Preview — The Great Season 2 Episodes 1-3: Heads It’s Me / Dickhead / Alone At Last
Hulu’s Emmy-nominated series, The Great is back for a second season! Picking up four months after the launch of the coup, Catherine (Elle Fanning) is starting to gain the upper hand.
But the coup may have been the easy part. As Catherine begins her rule of Russia she’ll encounter unexpected obstacles that may keep her from being the great leader she hopes to be. She’ll be up against the court, her own team, and even her mother as she attempts to face the realities of liberating a country.
As Catherine begins her quest to remake Russia, there’s one thing we can be sure of: that the season will be full of the same satirical comedy we’ve seen in 2021.

“Heads It’s Me” Episode Description: 4 months after she launched a coup against her husband, a pregnant Catherine is gaining the upper hand in her war against Peter. The fact that he is deeply in love with Catherine and their unborn child does little to dissuade her from taking his throne.
“Dickhead” Episode Description: Catherine, Orlo and Velementov begin their rule of Russia and unexpected obstacles appear for her. Peter is on a journey of self-improvement under house arrest but convinces Catherine to let him attend her coronation and hand over his crown.
“Alone at Last” Episode Description: Catherine’s grief over the loss of Leo during the coup finally catches up with her. Peter’s part in Leo’s death, and the discovery that he just murdered a noble, causes Catherine to lock Peter in his apartments with only his mummified mother for company.
