Big Sky Review: Gettin’ Right to It (Season 2 Episode 4)
Big Sky does what it does so well, leaves us hanging in suspense with big questions on Season 2 Episode 4, “Gettin’ Right to It.”
The first half of the episode has a bit of a slow start, but when it “gets right to it,” it shifts gears into total bedlam. It makes for fun viewing, but it’s a bit of a bummer when you find out the show is taking a two week break.
What’s gonna happen with Bridger and Madison and dirty cop Harvey? Do Cassie and Jenny come out of this attack safely? What is Mark and Jerrie’s ship name going to be?
Although, it is nice to get a break from Deputy Poppernak and his old-fashioned, country boy “values.”

The season has only had 4 episodes, and it already has me in its grips. Season 2 Episode 3, “You Have to Play Along,” brought the drama up to the speed and intensity where it excels.
However, this format really leaves us wanting more, and that’s never a bad thing.
The pace picks up when Deputy Harvey kidnaps Bridger. He must be really desperate to clean up after the Big Sam mess to do something so risky.
I think that’s why it comes as such a shock when it happens; it’s a genuine jump-scare moment. Also shocking is Donno opening fire on Jenny and Cassie in such a violent way.

And this is how the episode ends—their wellbeing hangs in the balance, as well as that of the kids’ who are trying to rescue Bridger.
It makes the two weeks that much more difficult to get through with any amount of patience. Moreover, I will be wondering about what will come of that kiss between Jerrie and Mark.
This is a very intriguing development, and one that will take us down a path with a richer storyline than if the Cassie/Mark angle were to be pursued.

I’m not a big fan of Mark, but I am of Jerrie, so if she’s into him, I’m okay with it. The Cassie/Mark pairing is turning out to be forced and pretty awkward. Maybe this will diffuse that dynamic or possibly even complicate things.
Suffice it to say, I am now interested to find out what happens with Mark.
But, that’s not going to make the two weeks go by any faster.
Stray Observations:
- Hokiest line of dialogue goes to Deputy Harvey with “Listen, spicy…”
- I love Big Sky‘s willingness to portray corrupt law enforcement.
- Ren makes such a good baddie.
