Willie Garson, ‘Sex and the City’ and ‘White Collar’ Star, Dead at 57

TV favorite Willie Garson has passed away at the age of 57, per TVLine.

Garson was fighting cancer, but that has not been confirmed as the cause of death.

The actor’s son Nathen confirmed the news on Instagram writing, “I love you so much papa. Rest in peace and I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much. I’m so proud of you.”

Garson is best known for playing Carrie’s best friend Stanford on Sex and the City, and con man Mozzie on White Collar. However, his career spanned decades with roles on Family Ties, Boy Meets World, Hawaii Five-0, and Supergirl.

The actor also appeared in the films Groundhog Day, Kingpin, Being John Malkovich, Just Like Heaven, and There’s Something About Mary.

Garson was set to return as Stanford in the upcoming Sex and the City HBO Max revival And Just Like That… The network has not yet commented on the status of his work in the series.

“There are no words,” actor Titus Welliver wrote, “I love you dear brother. We are fewer.”
