Big Brother Season 23 Week 4 Recap: Predictability is the Name of the Game
Big Brother Season 23 is all about predictability. Unfortunately for CBS, that is not going to keep longtime viewers engaged.
The tagline for Big Brother is always “Expect the Unexpected.” So when is this going to happen? The only unexpected thing to happen this week is the fact Britini does not cry, or at least we do not see it on television.

The Wildcard Competition is the first thing that is predictable in week 4. After watching the game for 30 seconds, we know Claire is going to be the winner. Kudos to her for getting some screen time this week by also playing in Veto.
Claire also makes the right decision by guaranteeing her own safety until jury. She is not one of the main targets, but The Cookout Alliance will need to get her out eventually. Lucky for Claire, her strongest allies are Kyland and Tiffany, so we can pray these three make it to the end.
Whitney proves she is not a strong competitor, so it’s surprising the Big Brother houseguests want to get someone like her out of the house so soon. Whitney has zero allies and will never win by a jury vote. She should be everyone’s pick for final two.

And then there is Azah. Her ball never moves more than six inches from the start line during the competition. Clearly, she knows this is not going to give her the win. It is humorous to watch, especially because she is so sure she is doing well.
Azah needs to step her game up if she expects to win Big Brother. She and Derek F are the clear weak links to The Cookout Alliance. I am guessing Tiffany will figure this out sooner than later and try to get them evicted before they figure out she is the brains of their whole alliance.
Speaking of The Cookout alliance, Sarah Beth is starting to catch on to their gameplay. She wants Hannah out this week so bad but notices other houseguests like Xavier are trying to put the target on Whitney. She is not falling for it.

Sarah Beth is clearly one of the smarter Big Brother Season 23 houseguests. Her intelligence could be her downfall if he keeps verbally expressing her thoughts to the house. If she keeps opening her mouth, she will be evicted before jury.
Sarah Beth is already on Tiffany’s radar, which is somewhere you do not want to be right now. Hopefully, she can realize this and lay low in order to survive a few more weeks. With no strong alliances, Sarah Beth is a likely jury member and not a final two contender.
Additionally, the POV ceremony is as predictable as the Wildcard competition. It is clear from the beginning that it was going to be either Derek X or Christian pulling off the win. And after Christian claims victory, no surprise that nominations remain the same.
Something very unpredictable in the Big Brother Season 23 house is to see arguing between the houseguests. It was a nice change of pace to see Whitney and Derek X go at it after he gives away Whitney being the target to leave. Sadly, this fight is way too short and only fills up about 30 seconds of the Wednesday episode.

Big Brother is thrilling to watch when the houseguests are in such huge fights that the producers have to step in and order them separately. If a fight like this happens it will most likely be between Sarah Beth and Hannah.
Let’s hope we can see that showdown before one of them is evicted.
Another possible fight could be between Derek X and Christian. Though they are allies now, it is apparent they are the two strongest competitors in the house. If they are on the block at the same time, expect several explosions that week.

Predictability is extremely prevalent as Whitney is sent home packing on eviction night. Since Julie tells us it will be an endurance HOH competition this week, the houseguests will dress in workout attire. Hannah is sporting that type of clothing while Whitney is dressed up for a date with Julie.
Not even Sarah Beth gives Whitney a sympathy vote. This is smart gameplay on her part, but it could shake things up in the house and cause some more drama if one person picks to vote out Hannah. Maybe next week she will get her eviction notice?

Also, can the houseguests stop with throwing out birthday wishes and shoutouts for their social media pages during the live episodes? The audience at home could care less it is your grandma’s 70th birthday. It is almost as annoying as hearing the extremely long recaps at the start of every Big Brother episode.
To cause drama in week 5, let’s hope someone not on The Cookout alliance wins HOH. A Sarah Beth win could spell trouble for Hannah. Or a Derek X victory might see power couple Alyssa and Christian on the block.
