‘The Good Fight’ Renewed for Season 6
- Paramount+ wants more Diane Lockhart, as the streamer has renewed The Good Fight for Season 6, per TVLine.
- The legal drama is currently airing Season 5, which features Christine Baranski’s Diane and Audra McDonald’s Liz running an African-American law firm together.
- “The Good Fight‘s provocative, whip smart, and no-holds-barred world remains as relevant as ever, continuing to entice new audiences as one of Paramount+’s top performing original series and acquisition drivers,” Paramount+ scripted series chief Nicole Clemens said in a statement. “We are thrilled to continue The Good Fight‘s enduring legacy with a sixth season and can’t wait to see what the brilliant minds behind the series, Robert and Michelle King, tackle next.”
- The Good Fight is streaming on Paramount+, with new episodes available every Thursday.

‘Chicago Med’ Makes Steven Weber Series Regular, Adds Guy Lockard, Kristen Hager
- TV vet Steven Weber is definitely sticking around Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, as Deadline reports, he has been promoted to series regular for Chicago Med Season 7.
- Chicago Med Season 6 ended with Dr. Dean Archer being promoted to interim ED chief after Ethan was shot. The real question is, will he give the power back to Ethan when he’s ready to return?
- In the wake of Yaya DaCosta and Torrey DeVitto’s departures, the series has added two new doctors to the staff.
- Guy Lockard is Dr. Dylan Scott, a former Chicago cop who became a doctor. While there’s no word on if he’s connected to Chicago P.D., we wouldn’t be surprised, since the franchise loves crossovers.
- Kristen Hager is Dr. Stevie Hammer, a new ER attending who’s described as “brilliant and scrappy.”
- Chicago Med airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC, with Season 7 premiering Sept. 22.

Lana Condor to Star in Hulu’s ‘Take Out’
- Lana Condor is leaving rom-coms for action, with the new Hulu series Take Out, per The Hollywood Reporter.
- The action/comedy is co-written by Randall Park and Michael Golamco, who previously wrote Always Be My Maybe alongside Ali Wong.
- Take Out stars Condor as Iris, who “struggles to balance her personal life with her restaurant job — and her secret mission of destroying an evil crime syndicate determined to take over New York City.”
- The project is in the early development stage at Hulu and “takes an irreverent look at the modern-day relationship comedy while also deconstructing one-dimensional tropes from martial arts pop culture.”
- “I couldn’t be more excited to embark on this epic journey with the best partners around, Imminent Collision,” Condor said in a statement. “Thank you, Hulu, for your belief in our story, and we can’t wait to share it with the world!”

Amazon Orders Neil Gaiman’s ‘Anansi Boys’
- Amazon is continuing its relationship with Neil Gaiman, as the streaming network has ordered a series based on his novel “Anansi Boys,” per The Hollywood Reporter.
- “Anansi Boys” is connected to “American Gods,” since it features the sons of Mr. Nancy.
- The six-episode limited series follows “Charlie Nancy, a young man who is used to being embarrassed by his estranged father. But when his father dies, Charlie discovers that his father was Anansi: trickster god of stories. And he learns that he has a brother. Now his brother, Spider, is entering Charlie’s life, determined to make it more interesting, but also making it a lot more dangerous.”
- Orlando Jones portrayed Mr. Nancy in the Starz series American Gods, but the two shows are not connected and he is not appearing in Anansi Boys.
America Ferrera Joins ‘WeCrashed’ at AppleTV+
- America Ferrera has lined up her first major post Superstore role in the high-profile AppleTV+ limited series WeCrashed.
- Variety reports Ferrera plays Elishia Kennedy, “a brilliant young entrepreneur seduced into joining WeWork whose life is turned upside down as a result.
- Starring Academy Award winners Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto, and based on the Wondery podcast, WeCrashed chronicles the rise and fall of startup WeWork.
