‘Good Omens’ Renewed for Season 2 at Amazon
  • It’s time to check back in with two of TV’s most entertaining celestial beings. Amazon has surprised fans of Good Omens by renewing the show for Season 2.
  • Based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s novel, the first season follows Michael Sheen as angel Aziraphale and David Tennant as demon Crowley, who are trying to prevent the 11-year-old anti-Christ from embracing his evil side and causing the apocalypse.
  • BBC and Amazon’s official Good Omens Season 2 description says the show “will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley.”
  • “Having been on Earth since The Beginning and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.”
  • Season 1 concluded with the duo celebrating successfully saving the world and ready to take things easy for a while.
  • The series also featured appearances from Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, Jack Whitehall, Miranda Richardson, Adria Arjona, Michael McKean, Anna Maxwell Martin, Mireille Enos and Frances McDormand as the voice of God. As of this writing, Sheen and Tennant are the only stars announced to return.
  • “Personally I’m against it, but the world isn’t going to just save itself, is it? If David and I can manage to not fall out too badly this time, it may even have a chance of getting finished,” said Sheen.
  • “The return of Good Omens is great news for me, personally. As I get to work with Michael again, and I get to say Neil’s wonderful words once more,” said Tennant. “It’s probably less good for the universe as it almost certainly means there will be some fresh existential threat to its existence to deal with, but, you know — swings and roundabouts.”
  • Good Omens Season 1 is now streaming on Amazon.

‘Yellowstone’ Season 4 Teaser Released, Series to Return in Fall
  • Yellowstone fans will have to wait longer than usual for the show’s return. Deadline reports, the summer staple is set to return in fall 2021.
  • It’s not all bad news, as Paramount also released a teaser for the upcoming season.
  • Yellowstone Season 4 has a lot of ground to cover, as Season 3 ended with the Dutton family under attack. John barely escaped being shot, thanks to his phone, Beth’s office was firebombed, and Kayce was caught in a very uneven gunfight.
  • Jacki Weaver joins Season 4 as Caroline Warner, CEO of Market Equities. Piper Perabo will play “a protester from Portland who is against the state funded police force that protects industrialized farming and the killing of animals.” Kathryn Kelly is a vet tech in a romance with a Dutton ranch cowboy. All three will be recurring.
  • Finn Little plays the new series regular role Carter, a youth Beth takes in, much like the family did for Rip.
  • Seasons 1-3 of Yellowstone are available on Peacock.

‘Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin’ Announces First Two Cast Members
  • HBO Max’s Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has found its first two cast members.
  • Variety reports, Chandler Kinney is Tabby, “an aspiring director and horror movie buff. Like the other Little Liars, Tabby’s hiding a secret.” Maia Reficco is Noa, “a striving, sardonic track star who’s working hard to get her life back to normal after a summer spent in juvenile detention.”
  • “Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago, as well as their own.”
  • The original Pretty Little Liars ran on Freeform for seven seasons and 150 episodes. Its previous spinoffs, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and Ravenswood each lasted only one season.
  • Pretty Little Liars is currently streaming on HBO Max.

John Lithgow to Return for ‘Dexter’ Revival
  • Showtime’s Dexter revival is bringing back its most infamous villain, with John Lithgow set to return for an appearance as Arthur Mitchell aka the Trinity Killer, per Deadline.
  • Lithgow spent Season 4 as creepy serial killer/family man Arthur, as Dexter found himself drawn to the man. Sadly, that fascination ended when Arthur killed Dexter’s wife and he bludgeoned Arthur with a hammer as revenge.
  • This very final ending has fans wondering how he will return. As usual, nothing is being revealed, but writers reportedly have a “pathway” for a return that makes sense “within the larger Dexter narrative.”
  • Since Lithgow seems to be filming a short appearance, we’re guessing he could be part of one of Dexter’s weird fantasy sequences or flashbacks.
  • Dexter is currently streaming on Showtime and Amazon Prime.

Nick Offerman Joins ‘A League of Their Own’
  • The Rockford Peaches have found their new coach in TV favorite Nick Offerman.
  • According to The Hollywood Reporter, Offerman has been cast in Amazon’s A League of Their Own series as former Cubs pitcher and new Peaches coach Casey “Dove” Porter.
  • Casey “is most famous because his forkball killed a dove in mid-air in the middle of a game. Inspiring and charismatic, Dove was thought to be the next big Major League Baseball star, but blew his arm out after three years. Now he’s looking to make his comeback by making the Peaches into champions.”
  • Based on the 1992 film directed by Penny Marshall and starring Geena Davis, Tom Hanks, Lori Petty, Rosie O’Donnell, and Madonna, Amazon’s A League of Their Own will “explore race and sexuality as the series follows a new ensemble of women carving out their own paths in the league and outside of it.”
  • The series is created by Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham.
  • Offerman joins previously announced cast members Jacobson, Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Roberta Colindrez, Kelly McCormack, Priscilla Delgado, Molly Ephraim, Kate Berlant and Melanie Field.
  • Offerman can currently be seen co-hosting Making It with Amy Poehler, which airs Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC.
