The much-beloved, teen rom-com Never Have I Ever returns for Season 2 to heat up Devi, Ben, and Paxton’s love triangle to a whole new level. According to the trailer, that whole new level is one where Devi dates both boys, presumably without the other boy knowing.
This decision can’t be sustainable for anyone involved, but it will stir up plenty of entertaining drama for Season 2. If you’re wondering where Fabiola and Eleanor, Devi’s closest friends, fall on the Ben vs. Paxton diabolical, they’re Team Paxton.
Their reasoning for being so and Devi’s reason for liking Paxton Hall-Yoshida is very surface-level and transparent. Hopefully, Season 2 will let everyone get to know Paxton beyond his appearance. Though, the same can be said in a different capacity with the other end of this now infamous love triangle — Ben Gross.
Devi’s grand plan may not live up to how she imagines it will for too long when a new student, Aneesa, arrives to shake things up. Aneesa’s cool, calm, and collected, which intimidates Devi. There are even moments in the trailer where Devi’s intense anger issues bubble to the surface again.
It doesn’t help that Aneesa appears to be getting along well with both Paxton and Ben.
Although, the comedy and romance don’t end with Devi’s increasingly complicated situation. The trailer has quick glimpses of Fabiola getting closer to Eve. Plus, it looks like Eleanor meet someone new named Malcolm.
The excitement doesn’t stop there! Nalini, Devi’s mom, meets Dr. Chris Jackson, a rival dermatologist, played by none other than Common! The idea of Nalini also falling for her “nemesis” like Devi does with Ben is too good. Once again, love is in the air, and Never Have I Ever knows exactly what it’s doing.
