First Look at Locke & Key Season 2
Netflix’s Locke & Key introduced us to a dark and magical world when it premiered last February, and it’s one we’ll be returning to in short order.
Based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez’s comic series of the same name, the show saw three siblings moving into their father’s childhood home and uncovering a series of magical keys, along with a demon looking to wreak havoc with them. The series was so well received, it was renewed for a second and third season not long after it debuted.
Locke & Key Season 2 will drop sometime in October. A specific date hasn’t been given just yet, but considering the horror element of the series, it’s ideal timing for a Halloween season binge.
The majority of the stars who held major roles in Season 1 are returning to Keyhouse for its second outing, including Darby Stanchfield (Nina Locke), Connor Jessup (Tyler Locke), Emilia Jones (Kinsey Locke), Jackson Robert Scott (Bode Locke), Petrice Jones (Scot Cavendish), Griffin Gluck (Gabe), and Laysla De Oliveira (Echo/Dodge).
TVLine reports that Aaron Ashmore (Duncan Locke) and Hallea Jones (Eden Hawkins) will become series regulars in the upcoming episodes as well.
Locke & Key Season 1 Episode 10, Crown of Shadows,” left us on quite a cliffhanger, revealing that the Lockes haven’t actually solved their Dodge problem after all. With the otherworldly demon still around — and taking the shape of someone close to them — it’ll be interesting to see how the new season plays out.
In addition to giving fans an idea of when to expect Season 2, Netflix released the first images of Locke & Key’s upcoming season. Check them out below!
Series description: After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens — and will stop at nothing to steal them. From Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill, the series is a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakable bonds that define family.
