The CW Reveals Fall 2021 Schedule and New Series Orders
The CW unveiled its new seven-night programming lineup launching Fall 2021, featuring its fan favorites, the 4400 reboot, and the highly anticipated reemergence of Legends of the Hidden Temple.
The network also revealed plans for its midseason schedule, featuring the debut of two new series expanding the lore of some of their current fan-favorites.
Beginning this fall, The CW will expand its slate of original content to Saturday nights, with an all-new “night of laughter” featuring Whose Line is it Anyway? and World’s Funniest Animals.

Sunday nights this fall will feature competitive game shows, a new venture for The CW. First up at 8/7c will be Legends of the Hidden Temple, the game show made popular in the 90s on Nickelodeon which lit up social media with the announcement of its return.
The CW calls this reboot a “supersized, adult version,” with “tougher challenges and much bigger prizes on the line.” The network also promises it “preserves the original Nickelodeon series’ favorite elements including “Olmec” (the giant talking Mayan head), the “Moat Crossings,” “The Steps of Knowledge,” the “Temple Run,” and of course, the iconic team names.”
Following Legends of the Hidden Temple will be a new US version of Killer Camp, where a mix of 13 unlucky American and British campers navigate through new deadly twists and surprises while competing to expose the “killer” among them for a share of the $50,000 cash prize.
Monday evenings on The CW will continue to feature All American and the new series 4400, a “reimagined” version of the USA drama that ended in 2007.

4400 stars Joseph David-Jones and Ireon Roach as two civil servants tasked with dealing with refugees who have inexplicably returned to Earth after disappearing without a trace, having no memories of what happened to them and not having aged a day since their disappearance over the last century.
Joining the fray in early 2022 will be Naomi, executive produced by Oscar-nominee/Emmy-winner Ava Duvernay and Jill Blankenship (Arrow).
Based on the DC comic character, Naomi “follows a teen girl’s journey from her small northwestern town to the heights of the Multiverse. When a supernatural event shakes her hometown to the core, Naomi sets out to uncover its origins, and what she discovers will challenge everything we believe about our heroes.”
Also added to the lineup in Spring 2022 will be All American: Homecoming, following Geffri Maya’s Simone Hicks, a tennis hopeful from Beverly Hills navigating collegiate sports against the backdrop of the HBCU experience at fictional Bringston University.

Notably absent from The CW’s series pickups and its upcoming plan is the highly publicized live-action adaption of The Powerpuff Girls, which sparked massive interest when it was announced it would shoot a pilot for a disillusioned-millennial take on the beloved cartoon.
As reported by TVLine, the pilot was indeed filmed, and “first-look” photos of Blossom (Chloe Bennet), Bubbles (Dove Cameron), and Buttercup (Yana Perrault) were released, but The CW chose to go back to the drawing board after reviewing the first footage.
Cast and creators, Diablo Cody, Heather Regnier, and CW mega-producer Greg Berlanti are all still attached to the project, which is said to be undergoing a series of tweaks following CW chairman and CEO, Mark Pedowitz’s comments that the original pilot was “a little too campy and not rooted in reality.”
Hopefully, The Powerpuff Girls eventually hits its stride and makes it out of development, because I for one, am dying to see how they bring villains Mojo Jojo and the illustrious “HIM” to the silver screen.
