Preview — Mare of Easttown Season 1 Episode 7: Sacrament
The series finale of Mare of Easttown, Mare of Easttown Season 1 Episode 7, “Sacrament,” is here, and everything might not be as it seems.
When we left Mare on Mare of Easttown Season 1 Episode 6, “Sore Must Be the Storm,” she was heading to confront Billy Ross, who appeared to confess to killing Erin McMenamin, thus wrapping up the series’ biggest mystery.
But as the episode ends, something isn’t quite right. We — and Mare — don’t have the full story. Now that we’ve reached the end of the series, it’s time for those truths to come out.
Viewers will finally learn how Erin ended up dead in a creek all the way back on Mare of Easttown Season 1 Episode 1, “Miss Lady Hawk Herself.”
The big questions we need answered on “Sacrament” are what is John Ross hiding, what secret is Dylan trying to protect, and what is in the photo Jess gave to the police at the end of “Sore Must Be the Storm.”
There is also a lot of ground to cover regarding Mare’s personal life.
The promo shows a scene with Carrie and Mare together. After the bathtub scene on “Sore Must Be the Storm,” we can only hope that scene is of them reconciling, even if it’s only for the sake of doing what’s best for Drew.
Elsewhere, Mare and Siobhan need to have a conversation after Siobhan’s breakdown. They need to figure out how to deal with their shared trauma so they can both move forward.
Maybe, we’ll finally find out what Richard’s deal is too. It seems odd to have a big name like Guy Pearce cast in that role if he isn’t going to play a bigger part in the story.
That could be the point, though. Perhaps he is exactly who he seems, and the casting was an effort to mislead savvy viewers that know all the tropes and crime drama tricks. We’ll find out on “Sacrament.”
Besides the answers about Erin’s murder, what answers are you most hoping to get on the series finale?
