Preview — Station 19 Season 4 Episode 12: Get Up, Stand Up
On Station 19 Season 4 Episode 12, “Get Up, Stand Up,” Dr. Diane Lewis returns to counsel the team after the tragic murder of an unarmed Black man. Maya is quick to bring Dr. Lewis in to help her team through their grief and all the other waves of emotion that come after such a traumatic loss.
The last time Tracie Thoms visited this Shondaland show as Dr. Diane Lewis was when they lost Pruitt Herrera in a fire. It may be beneficial to have someone most of the team is familiar with at 19 during this time.
There’s also the more realistic question of whether Dr. Lewis will be successful in guiding the team through their grief with just this episode. Station 19 does a good job of presenting the complexities of life, love, and loss, so there’s no doubt that it will deliver on “Get Up, Stand Up,” too.
Regardless of Dr. Lewis’s progress with the team, hopefully, it will be helpful for them to discuss their feelings, rather than bottle them up. The Station 19 family will surely come together and lean on each other as they have in the face of many tragedies in the past.
