Chicago Med Review: Letting Go Only to Come Together (Season 6 Episode 11)
Chicago Med Season 6 Episode 11, “Letting Go Only to Come Together,” is a story in filler. By the end of the episode, not much has changed, except for maybe April’s ego.
Natalie and Marcel also exchange those big three words, making it more clear than ever that Chicago Med has moved on from the Manstead ship.
However, while there isn’t much to say about character development for this episode, “Letting Go Only to Come Together,” has a great combination of medical cases. And while they aren’t too connected to the main cast, they have worthwhile stories in their own rite.

April’s overdue spotlight continues from Chicago Fire Season 6 Episode 10, “So Many Things We’ve Kept Buried,” but instead of allowing her plot the development it’s due, April rushes straight into defying doctors without much remorse. It’s very 0 to 100.
April has fallen into the rushed development trap that’s plagued Maggie all season. When characters fall into the mechanics of plot, and character falls short, a severe disconnect with the audience threatens to erupt.
However, April does do whatever is necessary for the patient. That is an integral part of her caretaking archetype. But it’s the purposeful timing and her own indignant behavior post-incident that paints this as slightly off base.
Chicago Med doesn’t have problems finding interesting and dramatic conclusions. But the issue lies with the journey, which arguably is the most important part.

However, through the more mundane parts of “Letting Go Only To Come Together,” there is a diamond — Natalie and Marcel’s love confession.
Every show needs some sort of stability throughout the drama, and Natalie and Marcel’s relationship feels like Chicago Med‘s anchor.
They’re not the perfect couple, but they’re surprisingly good at communication. Marcel even got the mother’s stamp of approval, albeit a little on the nose.
Like most things on Chicago Med their rooftop confession comes slightly rushed, but unlike some other characters or dynamics, Chicago Med spends plenty of time in its sixth season slowly building their relationship up.
This moment isn’t a surprise, but it isn’t a drag either. They make a good team and Chicago Med proves it.
And that’s all viewers want. To see and to not be told.

On the other hand, Will’s suffered greatly since the things ended with Natalie, and he’s suffered predictable plot after plot.
Does anybody remember Hannah Asher? I hardly do.
If a professional rivalry wasn’t enough, Chicago Med thrusts Will into a love triangle bringing down Ethan with him.
This plot serves nobody any favors, making these characters seem much less mature than they’re supposed to be.
Not every conflict has to revolve around romance, and these two have a much better story to tell if limited to their professional lives. There’s already enough bad blood there.

Why not use that?
Sabeena is a lovely, interesting character on her own. And she has a story to tell beyond squabbling boys.
