Superstore Review: Customer Satisfaction (Season 6 Episode 12)
Superstore is beginning to wind down, and viewers are beginning to get a clearer picture of how the end might come about.
On Superstore Season 6 Episode 12, “Customer Satisfaction,” Jeff returns to “problem store” 1217 to push customer satisfaction surveys on them. In typical Superstore fashion…antics ensue.
It’s so easy to feel bad for some of the Cloud 9 employees who have been through the ringer, and are now also being pushed to the back because of poor survey results.

But it’s hardly surprising to find out that 1217 Ozark Highlands is a “problem store.”
Jeff lays out their antics side by side and that’s honestly pretty damning. It wouldn’t be Superstore, though, without responding to antics with more antics. And boy does it work.
Creating problems so they can solve them for their customers is pretty genius — but Marcus causes things to go wrong very quickly. By clogging the toilets.

The store flooding is hard to watch. It’s also Season 6’s single best physical gag, because it continues FOR-EV-ER. Superstore thrives in the physical comedy space and the feeble attempts to stop the flooding only confirm that.
Elias trying to place a wet floor sign in a fully flooded floor space is one of the best single gags of the season. And Glenn walking up fully soaked pretending to not know what’s happening? GOLD.
Not only is “Customer Satisfaction” full of comedy gold, but it’s sprinkled with a sweet, cathartic moment or two.

Primarily, Jeff and Mateo get some closure on their relationship. Since their relationship ends so abruptly early in the series and Jeff is a bit scarce afterward, it’s cathartic to see them get closure. It’s also another clear indicator that Superstore‘s end is nigh.
The only thing not to love about “Customer Satisfaction” is Jonah’s subplot about belonging with the customers. It’s cringeworthy and uncomfortable, and much more comforting to watch the store flood.
Overall, though, it’s hard to ask for better this close to the end of the series.

A few stray thoughts:
- I don’t know, I guess I might still ship Mateo and Jeff. Just a little.
- “You’re gonna love the employee bathroom. I’ll show ya. I gotta dump one out, too!”
- It’s comforting that “two district” Jeff is still a sad sack. I was worried with the boyfriend talk, but even Glenn knew he was lying.
- Obviously Superstore is nearing the end of its run, but the characters deserve a happy ending. I hope they don’t close the store and fire everyone because of the “pee pee water” fiasco.
- Jonah leans hard into that cringe sometimes, but I feel for him. His life has not gone very well lately.
- In case you hadn’t heard – America Ferrera is returning for the series finale! Woohoo!
