Preview — Riverdale Season 5 Episode 10: Chapter Eighty-Six: The Pincushion Man
Riverdale Season 5 Episode 10, “Chapter Eighty-Six: The Pincushion Man,” puts all of our heroes in some precarious-looking situations. On the mid-season finale, Hiram is taking his plans to destroy Riverdale and the last of its inhabitants by planting a bomb.
“The Pincushion Man” is written by Chrissy Maroon and directed by Gabriel Correa. Like any good mid-season finale, this episode is likely to leave us with some pretty big cliffhangers.
Who are Betty and Alice’s unexpected visitors? Will they be familiar faces? Will they bring us any answers about Polly?
Things are heating up between Jughead and Tabitha. In the trailer for “The Pincushion Man,” they share a pretty steamy scene at Pop’s. But something about Jughead’s writing process is bringing up red flags for Tabitha. Will she be able to bring him out of his self-destructive habits?
Will a showdown between Cheryl and Hiram finally fully bring her out of her ivory tower to take him down? Is he planning to blow up her maple groves? Who’s holding Kevin at gunpoint and why?
I’m not happy that he broke up with Fangs either, but I think this is a little extreme.
Things may go south for Veronica and Archie with the return of her husband Chad now that they’ve started having an affair. Archie also gets some army-related news that may put a kink in his plans for Riverdale.

Episode description: While preparing for the school’s Parent-Teacher night, Archie (KJ Apa) is caught off guard when his former Army General shows up in Riverdale with some unexpected news. Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) pushes back after hearing that Hiram (Mark Consuelos) and Reggie (Charles Melton) have expressed interest in taking over the Blossom maple groves. Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) unconventional way to get through a case of writer’s block causes Tabitha (Erinn Westbrook) to be concerned for his safety. Finally, Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Alice (Mädchen Amick) receive some unexpected visitors. Camila Mendes and Casey Cott also star. Gabriel Correa directed the episode written by Chrissy Maroon.
