Jared Padalecki returns to The CW as Texas Ranger Cordell Walker on Walker. Walker Season 1 Episode 1, “Pilot,” follows Cordell Walker as he learns there’s plenty of work to do at home upon his return to Austin, TX. He’s met with plenty of challenges in every aspect of his life while he continues to grapple with a devastating loss.
After being undercover for two years, Walker tries to reconnect with his family upon his return. That’s quickly complicated by very tense relationships with essentially everyone in his family. Tensions between Cordell and his brother Liam, played by Keegan Allen, are featured in the promo video.
Plus Cordell faces major changes at work. His former colleague is now his Ranger Captain. Luckily for Walker, he finds common ground with his new partner Micki Ramirez — one of the first women in Texas Rangers’ history. Micki is willing to have Cordell’s back, but she expects the same in return.
It appears that is easier said than done when Cordell grows increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death.

As Walker attempts to reconnect with his creative and thoughtful son August (Kale Culley) and his headstrong, somewhat rebellious teenaged daughter Stella (Violet Brinson), he finds that he needs to navigate clashes with his family – Liam (Keegan Allen), Walker’s ADA brother who stepped in during Walker’s absence, his perceptive mother Abeline (Molly Hagen) and his traditional rancher father Bonham (Mitch Pileggi).
Walker’s former colleague, Larry James (Coby Bell), is now his Ranger Captain. And Walker finds unexpected common ground with his new partner Micki Ramirez (Lindsey Morgan), one of the first women in Texas Rangers’ history while growing increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death (guest star Genevieve Padalecki).
