Netflix is releasing Selena: The Series, a highly anticipated continuation of Selena’s legacy, starring Christian Serratos (The Walking Dead) as Selena Quintanilla, the Queen of Tejano Music

Selena: The Series is executive produced by Abraham and Suzette Quintanilla, Selena’s brother and sister, and they had a major influence over the story portraying the life of Selena.

Ahead of the premiere of Selena: The Series, there have been mixed feelings. Some people have been excited about the continuation of Selena’s legacy and a way to introduce her to younger generations who may not be familiar with Selena’s life and career.

However, there is also some viewers who are wary of how Netflix will handle portraying the story of such a beloved icon, and someone who many people grew up with, either through her music or her story.
