Throwback Thursday: ‘Dollface,’ ‘Chicago Med,’ ‘House,’ and a Major Manstead Moment
November is just flying right on by! This week’s Throwback Thursday focuses on November 15-21.
While the premieres are a bit scarce this week — only about eight worth mentioning — they are definitely premieres to look out for. The most notable of these are House, Chicago Med, and Dollface.
When we looked back at this week in history we found some really fun moments to talk about. We discovered the final episode that had Andie McPhee and her father on Dawson’s Creek. Then on Brothers & Sisters, the Walker clan has a dinner to remember. Finally, this week in 2019 Chicago Med‘s Manstead have a relationship defining moment when Natalie finally remembers her love for Will, but Will rejects her.
Fasten your seatbelts…it’s going to be a bumpy ride through TV history.
Major TV Moments:
Andie McPhee Says Goodbye to Capeside (Dawson’s Creek Season 4 Episode 7, “You Had Me at Goodbye”) (November 15, 2000)

Starting in Season 2, Andie McPhee becomes a Dawson’s Creek staple. So it is shocking when she makes her exit from the show during the first half of Season 4.
She is definitely struggling to keep herself above water during this time, but still, it’s sad to see her make the decision to move to Italy with her aunt. All because she overdosed on a bit of ecstasy and has the credits to graduate early.
It’s always hard to say goodbye to a beloved character, but fans were glad that only Andie left the show and not her brother, Jack as well. We do get to see her one more time when she returns to graduate with her friends, but “You Had Me at Goodbye” is credited as her official exit from the show.
This is also the last time that we see the McPhee patriarch, due to the death of David Dukes.
Kevin and Scotty Weather a Big Hurdle — Inadequacy (Brothers & Sisters Season 3 Episode 8, “Going Once… Going Twice”) (November 16, 2008)

Anyone who has seen Brothers & Sisters will tell you that the best thing about the show is the relationship of Kevin and Scotty. These two men get married early on in the series and fans get to see them weather the ups and downs of marriage throughout the remaining seasons.
So, when Scotty gets promoted to Head Chef on “Going Once…Going Twice” naturally Kevin feels inadequate and like he isn’t needed anymore. When the balance of their relationship has always been Kevin making the money and Scotty struggling to get cooking jobs it makes sense that this new dynamic is difficult for him.
Since they’d gotten married during Season 2, this is the first big marriage hurdle they really have to face and it’s a learning experience for both of them. It’s just unfortunate that the issue had to occur in front of the whole family at dinner.
Of course, these two kiss and clear the air by the end of the episode, but this mishap does put fans on edge for a short while. It’s always beautiful to see these two weather storms together as a couple should — with patience and kindness.
Natalie Remembers the Accident (Chicago Med Season 5 Episode 9, “I Can’t Imagine the Future”) (November 20, 2019)

It’s been months, and Natalie Manning’s memory from that horrific accident is starting to come back. It’s been an emotional journey for all the Manstead fans, and the hope of her memory coming back brings with it the possibility of Natalie and Will reuniting.
Unfortunately, the moment couldn’t be more heartbreaking if it tried. Natalie approaches Will — who hasn’t been speaking to her after she told him to ‘get out of her life’ — to give him the good news that she remembers everything from that night.
Her face is so open and full of hope for the man she loves as she utters those three words fans have been itching to hear. Then within seconds her whole demeanor is shattered by Will’s refusal to accept her love, or her apology.
This has definitely been a turbulent couple, but even in this heartbreaking moment we still have faith they will find their way back to each other. (Never mind that the rest of Season 5 firmly establishes the end of Manstead — we remain hopeful)
Premieres:

This week is not the biggest week for premieres, but we are still going to celebrate the TV it does give us.
For example back in 2004, House premiered and forever changed the forefront of medical dramas. For the first time TV viewers are treated to a well-renowned doctor who is addicted to pain pills, and still manages to hold onto his medical brilliance.
Another big premiere this week is Chicago Med. For Dick Wolf, the Chicago franchise has become almost as popular as his Law & Order franchise — some might argue it’s more popular. The premiere of Chicago Med marks the third and final Chicago installment.
Here are a few TV shows that premiered this week in TV History:
- 1994 – Spider-Man
- 1998 – The Powerpuff Girls
- 2002 – Paula’s Home Cooking
- 2004 – House
- 2006 – Day Break
- 2010 – Brew Masters
- 2011 – Live! With Kelly
- 2015 – Chicago Med
- 2019 – Dollface
