Preview — Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 Episode 5: Die Trying
Star Trek: Discovery, Season 3 Episode 5, “Die Trying,” sees our crew finally reunited with what remains of the Federation. But that reunion might not be so easy. 930 years into the future Burnham, Saru, Tilly, Stamets and the whole crew of the Discovery will have to prove that they belong in Starfleet.
Directed by Maja Vrvilo and written by James Duff and Sean Cochran, “Die Trying” will show us the Federation as we’ve never seen it before.
Filled with new faces and tentative allies this Federation has gone through unimaginable loss following the burn. The destruction of every Starfleet vessel with an active warp core all at once, still with no explanation for how or why has completely changed the universe, and it will no doubt have altered Starfleet in many ways.
Will “Die Trying” give us more answers about the burn? How much about the future Federation will be recognizable to the crew of the Discovery? How many people are still fighting for those initial ideals of exploration and understanding?
