Swamp Thing senses a growing darkness in the swamp on Swamp Thing Season 1 Episode 4, “Darkness on the Edge of Town.”
While the logistics of Swamp Thing’s existence are still confusing, it is understandable that the natural world would fight against the toxins humans keep releasing. Marais is coming alive, and the swamp isn’t the only thing fighting back.
The promo video shows Liz getting into a seriously scary situation with a snake. Luckily, it looks like she isn’t the one who is attacked. Nonetheless, snakes appearing in sinks isn’t ideal — even in Marais.
We will also learn more about the mysterious Dan Cassidy. There isn’t much to know about Dan yet beyond the fact that his life is about to change. This is clear from Madame Xanadu’s card reading last week on Swamp Thing Season 1 Episode 3, “He Speaks.”
Of course Dan believes that Abby has something to do with whatever’s around the corner, because his cards didn’t change until she came back to town.
Dan isn’t the only one looking to Abby for causes and solutions to problems. Maria Sunderland blames Abby for basically everything in every episode of Swamp Thing so far.
That being said, “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” will continue to uncover more of Avery and Maria’s dark history.
Though the title of this episode suggests that darkness hasn’t reached Marais yet, all signs point to that happening before the end of “Darkness on the Edge of Town.”
