Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 Episode 1, “That Hope is You, Part 1,” provides the hope that the world absolutely needs in this dark time, staying true to its title.
Venturing more than nine hundred years into the future, Michael Burnham finds herself in an unfamiliar world, ravaged by the mysterious Burn which has clearly flipped the galactic societies upside down.
Sure, we meet Andorians, Humans, Lurians, and more — but Michael may find herself on the other side of the gun, as a stranger in this new society, deeply affected by the universe-shattering event of the past.
However, she’s not alone. After crashing into another ship, she comes across a man named Book and his furry feline, but as she quickly finds out, not all is what it seems.
Star Trek: Discovery returns stronger than ever and with a story more timely than ever. But if anyone can weather this storm and provide hope to people and places where it’s lacking, it’s Michael and her Discovery crew.
