First Look at Netflix’s ‘Holidate’: Never Put Up With Judging Eyes On Holidays Again
Netflix’s Holidate makes a promise that is every single person’s dream during the holidays: there is a way to banish judgy eyes, loneliness, and kids’ tables from all of the celebrations in our future. We just need to find Holidates.
After experiencing particularly dreadful Christmases unattached, Sloane (Emma Roberts) and Jackson (Luke Bracey) randomly meet and make a fateful pact. They’ll be each other’s date for every major and minor holiday throughout the year.
After all, why be miserable alone when they can be miserable together and possibly squeeze a little bit of joy out of the day?
Holidate rules strictly prohibit falling for each other, which is perfect for avoiding complications — as if love ever plays by the rules.
Grab some popcorn (or wine) and watch Solane and Jackson take on the holidays alone together as skeptical friends and family roll their eyes on the sidelines.
Kristin Chenoweth, Grey’s Anatomy‘s Jessica Capshaw, and The Resident‘s Manish Dayal also star.

Episode description: Sloane (Emma Roberts) and Jackson (Luke Bracey) hate the holidays. They constantly find themselves single, sitting at the kids table, or stuck with awkward dates. But when these two strangers meet one particularly bad Christmas, they make a pact to be each other’s “holidate” for every festive occasion throughout the next year. With a mutual disdain for the holidays, and assuring themselves that they have no romantic interest in the other, they make the perfect team. However, as a year of absurd celebrations come to an end, Sloane and Jackson find that sharing everything they hate may just prove to be something they unexpectedly love.
