It’s been a long ride for The Right Stuff, the space race-centered docudrama based off the book of the same name by Tom Wolfe. After being slated to air on NatGeo, it moved to Disney+ with the announcement of the streaming service.

In August 2019, well before widespread coronavirus concerns, it was officially presented to the public at the D23 conference with a panel attended by the cast and astronaut Nicole Stott and was slated to premiere in 2020.

Now Disney+ has given fans the news they’ve been waiting for: The Right Stuff will take off on October 9.
