Siren Canceled By Freeform
Siren won’t be swimming into a fourth season.
Freeform’s mermaid-drama, Siren has been canceled by the network two months after the Season 3 finale aired on May 28th.

Deadline reports that this marks a reversal of fortune for Siren. The show premiered in 2018 and was a breakout hit. The second season ranked as the most-watched show of the year on the network.
The third season saw a double-digit drop in rating while the show remained one of the most-watched on the network’s most-watched original series in linear viewing.
TV Line reports that “Siren averaged a 0.11 demo rating and 410,000 total viewers (in Live+Same day numbers), down 30 and 15 percent from Season 2.”

The series is based on a story by the show’s co-writers Eric Wald and Dean White and is set in the coastal fishing town of Bristol Cove. Legend says that the town is an ancient home of mermaids. But the legends get a dose of reality with the arrival of Ryn (Eline Powell), who wreaks havoc on the small town.
The Siren Season 3 finale, which now has to serve as the series finale, gave fans the final showdown between mermaids Tia and Ryn. While good ultimately triumphed, Ryn’s story hasn’t been completely tied up with Ben still missing. (At least, her daughter is safe.)

News of the cancellation also comes weeks after Freeform ordered additional seasons of Motherland: Fort Salem and quirky comedy Everything’s Gonna Be Okay. It also announced that Good Trouble, and grown-ish, which should have returned this summer, would be held until 2021.
The series also starred Alex Roe, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ian Verdun, and Rena Owen and was executive produced by Emily Whitesell and Eric Wald.
