Preview — Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 7 Episodes 12 and 13: The End Is at Hand / What We’re Fighting For
The time has come for our agents to embark on their final mission!
8 years after the Battle of New York and 6 years after the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., we will finally say our goodbyes to Phil Coulson and his team during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 7 Episode 12 and 13, “The End Is at Hand,” and “What We’re Fighting For.”
The 2-hour series finale will see the MCU’s most persistent agents put everything they have left into stopping Nathaniel Malick and the Chronicoms from wiping S.H.I.E.L.D.’s legacy from history.
This is it — there will be no do-overs and no second chances for the agency or its agents this time around.
This will surely be a sombre occasion for viewers given not everyone is expected to come out of the finale alive. It is also a celebratory milestone for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as the series goes out on its own terms and in a way that pays homage to its own resistance in the face of overwhelming odds.
Outsmart and outlast has always been Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s game plan as the series dodged near-cancellations and overcame budget constraints to solidify itself as a permanent fixture of prime-time television for seven years.
This Avengers spinoff has seen some things and still stands to tell its story — an impressive feat for any series these days.
Here’s hoping that attitude will carry over to this final fight against Sibyl and Nathaniel. Quake deserves to shake Malick’s privileged butt into the next century. We believe in you, Daisy!
Viewers can also expect old friends and teammates to come to their aid in these final hours of need. So there is still a chance staples of the series such as Brett Dalton’s Grant Ward will make a last-minute appearance.
Will Daisy and Sousa live happily ever after? Will Coulson return to his rightful place on the big screen, this time with May by his side? Is this the last we will see of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the MCU? And most importantly, will Simmons remember Fitz?! One can hope.
So let us come together for one last mission and pour one out for Coulson, Daisy, May, Deke, Mack, FitzSimmons, and every other agent that made this journey a memorable one.
