What to Watch on TV: I May Destroy You, Artemis Fowl, The Bold Type
Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of June 7th! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from marathons to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to while stuck inside.
This week’s picks include Da 5 Bloods debut, The Bold Type‘s return, the team makes sense of the new time jump on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and more.

I May Destroy You – Sunday, June 7
Chewing Gum’s Michaela Coel is back with a new series that dives into dating in the time of apps, long-distance relationships, and examining the importance of consent. I May Destroy You debuts Sunday, June 7 at 10:30/9:30c on HBO.

Lenox Hill – Wednesday, June 10
This new Netflix documentary follows the lives of 4 doctors inside Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. The series takes a look at what their day-to-day looks like and the stakes of patient care in the health system. Lenox Hill debuts Wednesday, June 10 on Netflix.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Wednesday, June 10

After the surprise time jump, leaving Enoch stuck back in the 1930’s, the team has to figure out what the time jump to a new decade means, and how the chronicoms will try to take down S.H.I.E.L.D. in the past. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Wednesday, June 10 at 10/9c on ABC.
Episode Description: A surprise leap forward in time has stranded Enoch in 1931 and landed the team in yet another unfamiliar decade. Now, in order to stop the chronicoms from launching their newest future-dismantling plan, the agents will have to infiltrate one of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s most secure bases. They won’t be able to succeed without help from a familiar face or two.
Burden of Truth – Thursday, June 11
In the face of Kodie’s decision to take her children on the run, Joanna has to race against the police to track her down first in order to save the custody case. Will she get to Kodie in time? Burden of Truth airs Thursday, June 11 at 8/7c on The CW.
Episode Description: Kodie snatches her kids and goes on the run; with Millwood Police looking for her and with the imminent threat of a province-wide Amber Alert, Joanna must track Kodie down to have any chance at saving her custody case.
The Bold Type – Thursday, June 11

Jane’s back post-surgery and ready to deal with new duties at Scarlet as Kat is confronted with some harsh truths, and Sutton gets some shocking news. The Bold Type returns Thursday, June 11 at 10/9c on Freeform.

Artemis Fowl – Friday, June 12
Disney’s film adaptation of popular children’s novel by the same name is heading to the company’s streaming service as it tells the story of young Artemis Fowl as he’s plunged into a world of magical creatures and mysteries after his father goes missing. Artemis Fowl debuts Friday, June 12 on Disney+.
Description: Artemis Fowl is a 12-year-old genius and descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds. He soon finds himself in an epic battle against a race of powerful underground fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance.
Da 5 Bloods – Friday, June 12
Spike Lee’s latest movie tells the story of four black Vietnam veterans that return searching for the remains of their squad leader and find themselves dealing with the trauma, the morality, and the actions they had to undertake while on deployment. Da 5 Bloods debuts Friday, June 12 on Netflix.
Series Description: The story of four African-American Vets — Paul (Delroy Lindo), Otis (Clarke Peters), Eddie (Norm Lewis), and Melvin (Isiah Whitlock, Jr.) — who return to Vietnam. Crossing Swords: Season 1 – Friday, June 12
Hulu is bringing another animated series to its viewers, this time following wannabe hero Patrick as he lands his dream job as squire. You get to follow his adventures on Crossing Swords Season 1 when it debuts Friday, June 12 on Hulu.

Prideland – Friday, June 12
PBS is shining a light on LGBTQ+ life in America with their latest documentary as Dyllon Burnside examines LGBTQ+ communities throughout the south. Prideland debuts Friday, June 12 at 9/8c on PBS.
Series Description: PRIDELAND, produced by Tiny Horse, opens a window into the world of modern-day LGBTQ+ life in America. The series highlights authentic personal stories brought to life through Burnside’s curious, exploratory lens. Alexa & Katie: Season 3 – Saturday, June 13
Senior year is upon the pair and with it comes new realities, big changes, and thoughts of the future. Alexa & Katie returns for its final season Saturday, June 13 on Netflix.
