Preview — Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 7 Episode 1: The New Deal
Endgames have come to pass, Earth’s mightiest heroes have paid the ultimate sacrifice, and through it all there has been but one constant for Marvel — the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
This hidden gem of a superhero series has outlasted large scale changes to the films and its own looming expiry date. So it’s no wonder this final season premiere, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 7 Episode 1, “The New Deal,” feels more like a big deal.
That, in large part, has to do with the team’s newest reality — 1931 New York City. Long before our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man or the patriotic Captain America walked the streets of New York, S.H.I.E.L.D. and newly resurrected Coulson will attempt to save the future by protecting earth’s past.
With a time-jumping ship and aliens hell-bent on targeting the agency during various historical events, it seems the series will have a season full of exciting scenery changes, Marvel easter eggs, and familiar faces at their disposal.
It’s a rather welcoming paradigm shift for the show in its final days.
Fans can expect an Agent Carter crossover of sorts when Enver Gjokaj’s Daniel Sousa crosses paths with the agents during their journey through time. It gets better! Patton Oswalt will also be returning to the series in a new role, while Never Have I Ever‘s Darren Barnet guest stars on the Season 7 premiere.
The beginning of the end sure is looking good for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. — especially in those vintage threads!

Episode description: Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are thrust backward in time and stranded in 1931 New York City. With the all-new Zephyr set to time-jump at any moment, the team must hurry to find out exactly what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present and future of the world.
