Everything We Know About ‘Superman & Lois’ So Far

News

The DCTV family is expanding with the addition of Superman & Lois, which has already been ordered to series at The CW. We’re so excited about this upcoming series, that we’ve put together a little round-up of all the information we know about Superman & Lois so far.

From The Flash executive producer Todd Helbing, DCTV-genius Greg Berlanti, and Warner Bros. TV, the show follows Clark and Lois as they deal with the complexities of being working parents in the modern world. The series stars Tyler Hoechlin as the lovable Clark Kent/Superman and Elizabeth Tulloch as the incomparable Lois Lane.

Unfortunately, according to TVLineSuperman & Lois was unable to film its first episode before The CW’s upfront presentation in May, so we won’t be getting any scoop from the pilot anytime soon.

Hoechlin first appeared as Clark Kent on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 1, “The Adventures of Supergirl.” Tulloch completed the iconic duo when she first appeared on The Flash Season 5 Episode 9, “Elseworlds: Part One.”

The twist from Legends of Tomorrow Season 5 Episode 1, “Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 5,” revealed the couple has two sons on Earth-Prime, instead of the singular Jonathan they had prior to the multiverse collapsing.

Deadline announced Jordan Elsass (Little Fires Everywhere) and Alexander Garfin (Law & Order: SVU) will play the couple’s two teenage sons, Jonathan and Jordan.

Elsass will play Jonathan, who according to Deadline, is clean-cut and kind-hearted. Whereas Garfin will be the intelligent Jordan, who struggles with social anxiety and enjoys video games.

Per Deadline, Dylan Walsh (Life Sentence) will be a series regular as Lois and Lucy Lane’s no-nonsense father General Lane. General Lane strives to keep America safe from any and all threats.

General Lane is no stranger to the DCTV Universe; Glenn Morshower portrayed the character on Supergirl and Michael Ironside did so on Smallville

Morshower’s General Lane’s appearances on Supergirl happened on the same Earth as Hoechlin’s Clark Kent/Superman. Then again, the change in General Lane’s appearance (a.k.a Walsh taking over the role) can be explained away as an effect of Earth-Prime’s creation.

Deadline also announced Emmanuelle Chriqui (The Passage) is joining the cast as the popular DC character Lana Lang. On Superman & Lois, Chriqui’s Lana Lang-Kushing never left Smallville and works at Smallville Bank. She reconnects with Clark during a particularly difficult time in her life.

Erik Valdez (Graceland), according to Deadline, will play Lana’s husband Kyle Kushing. Kyle is a small-town man at heart and Smallville’s fire chief, and he’s no stranger to tragedy either.

This casting news begs the question of if and/or when other classic characters from the Superman canon will appear on Superman & Lois. Jon Cryer’s diabolical Lex Luthor could take a stand in Metropolis. Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) could visit his good friend Clark Kent in Smallville.

There could be small but epic crossovers on Superman & Lois, thanks to all the Arrowverse shows now existing on the same earth, Earth-Prime.

Clark could team-up with Kara against a villain. Kara and Lois could write the biggest, game-changing story of the year together. Barry Allen could run to town and spark a friendship for the ages with Clark.
