20 TV Shows We’re Stoked are Still to Come in 2020
We are full-throttle into 2020’s TV offerings. It has already been a doozie, with Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, 9-1-1: Lonestar, and Gentefied busting out on our screen.
Thank the TV goddesses, there is more goodness to come. We are excited twenty times over for these 20 TV shows that are still to come in 2020.
1. One Day at a Time Season 4

Netflix canceled One Day at a Time after Season 3 dropped on the streaming service, citing low viewing numbers. We had to wait an excruciating three months for the wise network Pop TV to pick up the series.
One Day at a Time Season 4 is a triumph for fans of inclusive TV and for fans of Rita Moreno (are there are people who AREN’T Rita Moreno stans?). Raquel Justice joins the cast as Nora, Alex’s girlfriend! Ray Romano joins the cast as well and we are super excited to know who his character is and how his presence will impact the family!
On March 24th at 9:30/8:30c on POP TV, we can once again cozy up the couch with the Alvarez family. Squee.
2. Elite Season 3

We have been feeling the Guzmania ever since Elite graced our streaming screens on Netflix in 2018! Elite Season 3 is sure to be as wild, passionate, and deranged as the first two seasons.
The new mystery begins March 13, 2020, on Netflix, so excuse us while we hole up at midnight to binge the entire thing in one sitting.
3. Little Fires Everywhere Series Premiere
https://youtu.be/JWGkX8ClhBI
You had us at Kerry Washington and Resse Witherspoon! These two phenoms star in the new miniseries Little Fires Everywhere based on the best-selling book by Celeste Ng.
It looks intriguing and intense, just what we crave. And, an Alanis song is in the trailer, so we can’t help but love it already!
Hulu showed that it can nail the miniseries format with The Act. Needless to say, we have high expectations for Little Fires Everywhere which arrives on Hulu March 18, 2020!
4. On My Block Season 3

Monse, Ruby, Cesar, Jamal, and Jasmine are back for more heart-wrenching hilarity on On My Block Season 3. These teens are forced to make difficult, grown-up decisions, but their hormones are still pure adolescence.
We can’t wait to watch them get in and out of their own ways. Luckily, we don’t need to wait long. On My Block Season 3 drops on Netflix March 11, 2020!
5. Westworld Season 3
https://youtu.be/pDJbFA32_QY
Dolores has escaped the park. The old maze has been thrown away only to be replaced by a new, far less western, one on Westworld Season 3. The humanity game has changed.
Even with all the upgrades, including the inclusion of actor Aaron Paul to the stellar cast, Westworld Season 3 looks like it will continue to deliver the epic cinematography, expansive world-building, and mind-bending mazes we loved on the first two seasons.
Starting March 15, 2020, you can tune into the bold and breathtaking series Westworld Sundays at 9/8c on HBO.
6. Vida Season 3
Get your Starz account activated because TV is about to get más chingona with Vida Season 3. Lyn is trademarking her way to success at her and her sister Emma’s East LA queerciñera-hosting bar. Nothing comes easy for these sisters, but the struggle is worth it if only because we get to watch. We can be inspired by the grit and pain of Lyn’s life, as Esme Mazzeo notes on her list of 20 Most Influential TV Characters.
We trust that we will get even more of the sexy and edgy romantic storylines (how could we only get one shot of Nico in the whole trailer!) we loved on the first two seasons. We also hope to delve deeper into Edy’s journey and what in the world is going on with Emma and Lyn’s father.
This is one of the best series on TV right now so it is painful to have to wait until Sunday, April 26, 2020, to tune into Starz for Vida Season 3!
7. Roswell, New Mexico Season 2

There are a thousand reasons to be excited for Roswell, New Mexico Season 2. We compiled a list of just 20 Reasons We’re Excited for the Return of Roswell, New Mexico Season 2 to help you get started.
As the Ortecho sister reunite, the alien-involved folks in Roswell will face their fears and their grief. And, hopefully, there will be time for some magically lit kisses as well.
The first out-of-this-world episode of Roswell, New Mexico Season 2 blasts off on Monday, March 16, 2020, at 9/8c on the CW
8. Ozark Season 3

The stakes are even higher and the marriage conflicts even more brutal on Ozark Season 3. Every second Laura Linney graces us with her talents is a gift so Ozark is a winning hand even when the house comes to collect.
Gambling metaphors abound for this violent and tightly delivered series! Season 3 has us diving into the innards of the Byrdes’ casino operations. Everyone is lying, no one is safe, and the cash is flowing. That is a perfect recipe for things to go very badly. We can’t wait to see it all go down.
Ozark Season 3 drops on Netflix Friday, March 27, 2020.
9. Baker and the Beauty Series Premiere

VICTOR RASUK, NATHALIE KELLEY
We can’t lie. The Baker and The Beauty’s trailer makes us downright hungry for more of the Latinx-led rom-com TV series!
Peruvian-Australian actress Nathalie Kelley’s character Noa has palpable chemistry with Victor Rasuk’s Daniel. The Baker and The Beauty is the first show where the two performers have leading roles and based on the trailer, it is about time!
The leads are surrounded by the warm and enchanting supporting cast. We simply can’t wait for what this ABC midseason offering is going to cook up for us!
At the same time, we are still nursing our wounds from the cancellation of Grand Hotel, another Latinx-led show on ABC. We will need to wait and see if this dough will rise. Oven mitts crossed!
Make sure you watch The Baker and The Beauty Mondays at 10/9c on ABC starting Monday, April 6, 2020.
10. Mrs. America
https://youtu.be/OIpTIPKTOkU
Cate Blanchett is going to burn up the TV screen (but certainly not her bra!) on the new FX on Hulu series Mrs. America. Her posied and punishing turn as conservative Phyllis Schflay, fighter against the Women’s Liberation Movement, is a topical foray into the murky and complicated history of feminism.
Rose Byrne as Gloria Steinem and Uzo Aduba as Shirley Chisholm ensure that the miniseries is going to move us, compel us, and challenge us.
Make sure you mark your calendar to ratify the first season of Mrs. America on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, on FX on Hulu.
11. Snowpiercer Series Premiere

We have been looking forward to the series Snowpiercer for a minute! In fact, actress Miranda Edwards shared her excitement for her role as Lights on the series, which is based on the graphic novel and film, back in 2018.
We have every reason to believe the class warfare thriller is completely worth the wait. Powerhouses Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs lead the riveting story of a world frozen in inequity and privilege.
You can pull up to the Snowpiercer Season 1 station starting May 31, 2020, and Sundays at 9/8c on TNT.
12. The Plot Against America Series Premiere

Creators David Simon and Ed Burns, of The Wire fame, bring us The Plot Against America, an alternative history TV series based on the work of famous novelist Phillip Roth, who shares writing credit on the series.
The limited series’ stories are told from the perspective of a working-class Jewish family, dealing with the fictional presidency of Charles Lindbergh. Award-winning performers Wynonna Ryder, Zoe Kazan, Morgan Spector, and John Turturro star, as if we needed another reason to tune in!
The Plot Against America premieres on March 16, 2020, and can be seen Mondays at 10/9c on HBO.
13. Insecure Season 4

Season 4 of Issa Rae’s incredible comedy Insecure will continue to share the black woman experience, with cringe-worthy and triumphant moments equally included.
Insecure has been inspiring us since its first season, as we talked about on our list of 26 Fantastically Feminist Female Characters from 2017. We are tickled to be able to continue to be entertained and enlightened by Rae and the incredible supporting characters on the HBO show.
Make sure to watch Insecure Season 4 Sundays at 10/9c on HBO starting April 12, 2020.
14. What We Do in the Shadows Season 2

The inventive and wildly entertaining What We Do in the Shadows is back on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, for another season! The series, based on the film of the same name, continues to deliver laughs and gaffs as the show follows the lives of four vampires, documentary style.
We believe this series is one of 20 Criminally Underrated Shows We Think Everyone Should Have Watched in 2019. Don’t let this one get away again!
It’s weird, it’s fun and it’s what to watch in the shadows in 2020.
What We Do in the Shadows Season 2 airs Wednesdays 10/9c on FX.
15. The 100 Season 7
The CW’s post-apocalyptic hit show The 100 returns May 20, 2020, for its seventh and final season. Emotions are high for the cast, the characters they play, and the fans who love them. It is unclear who will survive and if the show will provide the resolution and justice so many of us seek. (Team Raven forever!)
We can share Everything We Learned at Unity Days 2020 Including Teasers for The 100 Season 7 to guide our understanding of what is to come. We are wondering wildly if Ballarke will become canon, but the truth is Season 7 remains a mystery! As we have shared, the world of The 100 will continue to appear on our screens in the form of a prequel called Anacanda.
May we meet again, one last season, for The 100 Season 7 on Wednesdays 8/7c on The CW.
16. Younger Season 7

Bring on the love triangles we loathe and lust after! Younger Season 7 will bring us a married Diana, possibly an engaged Charliza, an empowered and vulnerable Kelsey, a permanently inky-eyed Josh, and (fingers crossed) a renewed romance between Lauren and Maggie!
There is A LOT that of stories that can go wrong and, frankly, we’re here for the mess of it all. We know this cast of flawed and fierce characters will continue to make us laugh until we cry and cry until we laugh at ourselves.
Even though the show hasn’t given us many details on when we can expect the next season of the Darren Starr series, we can predict Younger Season 7 will air around June 2020.
Is it summer yet?
17. Killing Eve Season 3

Season 3 of the hit BBC America show Killing Eve is coming for us on Sunday, April 26, 2020.
Despite the killer cast, fans should have no fear, at least of Season 3 being the last! BBC America renewed Killing Eve for a fourth season before the premiere of Season 3.
The deranged drama between Eve and Villanelle will continue when the assassin realizes she has not actually eliminated the object of her obsession.
Like YOU which features The Dangerous Entitlement of YOU’s Joe Goldberg, Killing Eve plays with our emotional connection to obsession and our very bad habit of rooting for murders.
We can’t help ourselves.
Killing Eve Season 3 airs Sundays 10/9c on BBC America.
18. The Walking Dead: World Beyond Series Premiere
https://youtu.be/xmRVMT86B00
The Walking Dead: World Beyond looks to add a little levity and a whole lot of youth to the epically popular The Walking Dead.
There is not a lot of whole in the world beseeched by zombies, but the Amazon original series sings out with just that. The end of the world was just the beginning for the children and teens born after the apocalypse. The Walking Dead: World Beyond follows the coming of age stories of some compelling kid survivors, led by Iris and Huck, played by Aliyah Royale and Annet Mahendru respectively.
We are already riveted, if not also on guard.
You can watch the first episode of The Walking Dead: World Beyond on Sunday, April 12, 2020, on Amazon Prime Video.
19. The Good Fight Season 4

The fight wages on for the persistent warriors on The Good Fight Season 4. Nothing ever comes easy for Daine and crew, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Good Fight Season 4 is just what we need to calm our nerves during the tumultuous and frightening days of 2020. Knowing we have Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart makes us hopeful that everything will be okay.
Join the fight on Thursday, April 5, 2020, on CBS All Access.
20. WandaVision & The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Series Premieres
https://youtu.be/dGSeok8xLOE
Our final show to look forward to in 2020 is actually a double-feature! Disney+ is unleashing the expanded Marvel Universe via hero-specific series.
WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Solider will each premiere on Monday, December 21, 2020, on Disney+. We can’t think of a better way to round out 2020 than with two epic and inspiring TV shows!
