Legacies Review: Kai Parker Screwed Us (Season 2 Episode 12)
Josie, Lizzie, and Alaric run into trouble while locked up in the prison world; Kai uses his powers of manipulation to plan his escape on Legacies Season 2 Episode 12, “Kai Parker Screwed Us.”
The return of Kai Parker is an event that I’ve been looking forward to all season because of the drama to come about and this week our favorite characters have to survive in his domain. On top of that, they must also protect themselves from the students banished for being too unruly, or so Alaric thought.
Lizzie’s frustration and anger towards Alaric is understandable because no matter what happens Alaric is always throwing in white lies to “protect” Josie and Lizzie. Which is why I don’t blame her for leaving to enjoy the day with Sebastian.

She gets to have the day of her dreams with someone that she’s falling for and even though she should she doesn’t think about the real reason why Alaric sent him away. It’s a beautiful moment for Lizzie, which is why it hurts so much worse when she finally realizes that he’s been lying to her the entire time.
She’s unaware of his lie about being the only one in the prison world, so she doesn’t know that it was only to get her alone. But, she does know now that he’s only been using her to fulfill his fantasy of an old flame named Cassandra. He wanted Cassandra to be a vampire so they could live the rest of their days together, but he couldn’t save her in time.
Now, Sebastian’s solution to never losing Lizzie is to force her into being a vampire by tricking her into ingesting vampire blood without realizing it. He thinks he has the upper hand and can make Lizzie do as he pleases, but he vastly underestimates her abilities to protect herself before his life is physically drained away.

I love that this arc of Lizzie trying to find her way out of the merge is falling into place. I don’t want Lizzie to become a vampire, but it would be the solution to the merge and would prevent her or Josie having to die so the other can live.
On top of the merge no longer being an issue if Lizzie does turn, she’d also become a hybrid, which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. She would have her world turned upside down, but I think that it would be a nice plot twist so close to the finale.
Meanwhile, Josie falls for Kai’s manipulation and falls into his trap, which ends with her having to break the sand clock before Kai permanently erases himself in the malivore pit. I know that Josie thinks she’s doing the right thing helping Kai and ignoring Alaric but in reality, she made everything ten times worse.

Now that Kai is free from the prison world and on earth there’s nothing stopping him from wreaking havoc on anyone he wants. Lizzie is on the side of the road, unconscious with Sebastian in the back seat. If she’s anything other than unconscious she could be in the transition stage to becoming a vampire.
Josie does what she’s been dreading and breaks the sand clock to absorb the black magic, but I don’t think that’s the solution to her problems because I doubt she’ll be able to control herself. Alaric, Josie, and Lizzie’s only hope of surviving this and escaping is if Josie can control her dark abilities and make her own portal out of the prison world.
I’m looking forward to seeing Alaric deal with the consequence of his actions and sending those children away without ever knowing the full story. I expect some heavy conversation between him and Josie, at least.

With only two episodes left in the season, I think it’s safe to assume that Kai Parker will get whatever revenge he has in mind by the season finale.
