ATX Television Festival: ‘Scrubs,’ ‘Cougar Town,’ ‘Nancy Drew,’ and More Headed to This Year’s Event

This year’s ATX Television Festival, which will take place June 4-7 in Austin, TX, is already shaping up to be an exciting event. Today, the festival announced additional programming for this year, including reunions for two beloved comedies: Scrubs, and Cougar Town.

Both series from creator/director/executive producer Bill Lawrence, who will be joining Scrubs cast members Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, Neil Flynn and Christa Miller for a reunion panel celebrating 10 years since the series finale.

Additionally, Lawrence will join co-creator Kevin Biegel and Cougar Town cast members Josh Hopkins, Christa Miller, Ian Gomez, Busy Philipps, Dan Byrd, Brian Van Holt, and Robert Clendenin to celebrate five years since the final episode aired.

Season 9 of the festival will also feature a panel for The CW’s Nancy Drew, which has already been renewed for a second season. Panelists will be announced at a later date.

Festival attendees can also look forward to a panel hosted by Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, in which the series’ creatives will discuss the process of blending current events and comedy to produce a weekly, late-night news satire show in an era of particularly charged politics, as well as a screening of Comedy Central’s The Other Two, followed by a Q&A with cast and creatives. Panelists for each will be announced at a later date.

For the fourth year, Comedy Central’s Drunk History will also be returning to the ATX Television Festival. Creator, executive producer, host, and actor Derek Waters, who will be joined by special guests.

  • Returning panelists Gloria Calderon Kellett (One Day at a Time), Tanya Saracho (Vida), Meredith Averill (Locke & Key), and Lauren Whitney (President, Television, Spyglass Media Group)
