TV News Wrap-Up: ‘Arrow’ Spinoff Details Revealed, ‘Killing Eve’ Gets Early Season 4 Renewal, ‘Outlander’ Season 5 Trailer Drops
Welcome to a new year everyone! I’ve said it before and I will say it again, 2020 looks bright as far as television is concerned. There are many new seasons of beloved series on the way and more series in development that look just as promising.
Of course, that also means that there are several shows slated to say farewell soon including The Good Place and Arrow. As bittersweet as some of these endings might be, television news is here to help us look towards the future.
Take a look at some of the highlights from the first (partial) week of 2020 below.

The synopsis for the Arrow spinoff episode has been released. According to TV Line, the January 21st episode will serve as the backdoor pilot for the new series and will be entitled “Green Arrow & The Canaries.” The episode synopsis reads, “it’s the year 2040 in Star City and Mia Queen has everything she could have ever wanted. However, when Laurel and Dinah suddenly show up in her life again, things take a shocking turn and her perfect world is upended.” The Canaries are tracking down a kidnap victim with ties to Mia and need her help to solve the case.

Killing Eve has received a Season 4 renewal ahead of its spring premiere. BBC America gave the show starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer a fourth season order after seeing substantial growth between the first and second seasons. Killing Eve has also placed well in major award show categories and earned a Peabody Award. Read more about the renewal right here.

Netflix has renewed Raising Dion for Season 2. The renewal comes three months after the first season fo the sci-fi drama dopped on Netflix. According to TV Line, the second season will consist of eight hour-long episodes order with production slated to begin in 2020. Carol Barbee will return as showrunner for Season 2.

Sarah Rafferty is joining Grey’s Anatomy in a recurring role. The actress, known for playing Donna Paulson on Suits is slated to appear in multiple episodes beginning on January 30th. Rafferty will play Suzanne, a patient that comes to Grey-Sloan Memorial after developing complications from a routine procedure. Read more about Rafferty’s role on the medical drama, right here.

STARZ released the Outlander Season 5 trailer. The footage shows Jamie and Claire trying to establish their home in Fraser’s Ridge, and also gives us the sense that Brianna and Roger may not see eye-to-eye about returning to their own time. You can see how it all turns out when Outlander returns Sunday, February 16.
