Legacies Review: It Will All Be Painfully Clear Soon Enough (Season 2 Episode 7)

Legacies, Reviews

With Hope on the verge of leaving again, Josie comes up with an adventurous plan to close the malivore portal once and for all. Meanwhile, Josie dissolves the disguise the headmaster has been using and reveals who’s behind the mask on Legacies Season 2 Episode 7, “It Will All Be Painfully Clear Soon Enough.”

Once again, Legacies has yet to have a bad episode this season and continues to deliver on the action, plot, and romance. This season has been better than I ever expected and I continue to look forward to what’s being cooked up next. I already knew that I loved Hope’s character, but this season has made me fall in love with Lizzie as well.

I’ve fallen for the relationship switch up with Lizzie and Hope because it’s always a good thing to see women lifting each other up and helping one another. Their relationship has blossomed throughout the season and I only see it growing stronger. As well with Josie, they can only take one step at a time.

My favorite moment from “It Will All Be Painfully Clear Soon Enough” is Hope asking Josie if it’s okay for her to return to school. Hope has no obligations to make sure that her returning to school won’t make Josie uncomfortable, but she knows how much pain she’s put her in and only wants to help relieve her stress, not add more.

Whatever bond Josie and Hope did have has been severed, for the most part, and it’s going to take time for both of them to communicate and get back to where they used to be. However, I don’t think it’ll be a monumental task with Lizzie there to push them to talk to one another.

Josie using black magic to reveal the truth behind the headmaster is magnificent and it brings joy to know that Clarke has been revealed and taken care of, for now. My only confusion being if Josie did it on purpose or if the reveal happened accidentally. The cut between Alaric and Dorian figuring it out and Josie grabbing his hand while doing the spell is a tad bit confusing, for me at least.

Did bringing the malivore memories back make Josie suspicious of the headmaster, did Alaric and Dorian tell her, or was it purely accidental?

Whatever the reason I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Clarke. The missing zombie is seen dragging the golem’s lifeless body to the mysterious red-hooded figure in the woods, which means he’ll probably be brought back to life.

If the golem is brought back to life with Clarke’s subconscious it will be the perfect opportunity to impersonate Landon now that he’s officially left town with Raf to keep everyone safe from the monsters. But, if that happens it’ll be interesting to see how long it takes for everyone to notice that something is off with him.

Frankly, I’m upset with Landon for not telling Hope how he feels about her before leaving because it would not have changed anything considering his subconscious has been screaming out that he loves her nonstop. I don’t see the point in hiding it when it’s not that well hidden in the first place.

I think that Landon is going to be in for a rude awakening once monsters start coming for him and he has no help from vampire hunters or witches. Sure he has Raf, but one werewolf isn’t the same firepower as multiple witches and a skilled vampire hunter.

With there now being no headmaster I hope that Alaric gets the chance to return to the school. After all, he can be put to much better use there than at the public mundane school.

One person I did miss this episode is MG and even though I hope we see him in next week’s episode I still want him to have to make his mistake with Lizzie right.
