Preview — 9-1-1 Season 3 Episode 7: Athena Begins

Have you ever wondered how Athena got started on her path to being the strong and fierce police officer that she is now? Well, 9-1-1 Season 3 Episode 7, “Athena Begins,” takes a trip down memory lane back to 1989 in order to tell that exact story.

In the present day, Athena has a weapon from an old case close to her resurface. This brings back memories from that time for her, and as a result, viewers will get to see her join the LAPD.

This is an exciting venture to undertake and it’s when 9-1-1 shines its brightest. They excel at telling the origin stories of these highly complex and layered characters. 

The only question is, when is it going to be Buck’s turn? He is the only original character who hasn’t taken a nosedive into his past. Maybe later this season, considering he has been a major focus so far.

Episode description:  When a murder weapon from a case close to Athena in the early ’90s resurfaces, flashbacks to 1989 show how Athena joined the LAPD and became the police officer she is today.
