Single Parents Review: Big Widow Wives (Season 2 Episode 4)

Reviews, Single Parents

It’s time to deal with the aftermath of the printer fire on Single Parents Season 2 Episode 4, “Big Widow Wives.” Somehow, it’s even worse than we thought because there’s a big hole in Angie’s living room.

Please tell me at some point Emma and Amy fix the hole because not only does that sound riveting, we also haven’t gotten a lot of quality time with the twins. They may not be Carrie and Kevin Kitchen, but they are wildly entertaining.

I’m also curious as to how long it would take them to get it done. I’m picturing like under 3 hours, and they also add some crazy improvements done to Angie’s house.

Single Parents Season 2 Episode 4 Professionals

I’ve never seen myself more accurately represented than when Angie and Will come face to face with a possum. Admittedly, I’ve never battled a possum in my own house, but cockroaches are not to be trifled with (especially when they fly!).

You would never think that a possum would be the reason that Graham and Angie both conquer their fear, but it is a hilariously cute moment of mother-son bonding.

Despite her skill at looking after Graham all by herself, Angie isn’t a superhero. She has her freak outs and her doubts, and witnessing one of those moments makes her all the more likeable. The pep talk with the possum helps with that too.

Single Parents Season 2 Episode 4 Titanic

The D’amato’s are a tough breed, although I would like to hear more about this Titanic incident. All you have to do, Graham, is avoid cruises, and you’re golden.

As a shipper of Will and Angie, I’m glad that the focus has shifted away from the weird jealousy/uncomfortableness that the other has girlfriend/old boyfriend in the picture. It’s much more entertaining to watch Will and Angie grow as friends.

Plus, it’s not as awkward and predictable.

Graham: And this is where I try to sleep but don’t because of all the new fear in my heart.

As great as it would have been to have Angie and Graham stay with Will and Sophie, it’s better that they bunk at Douglas’. For one, it lets the awkwardness and tension lessen between Angie and Will.

It would’ve been rushing it to put the two of them under the same roof because you can’t do that and not have something happen between them. You just can’t.

There’s been this slow build towards them as a couple, and having them move in together is about the fanfic equivalent of “oh no, there’s only one bed.” It’s a situation that Will and Angie can’t escape without some romance happening.

Single Parents Season 2 Episode 4 Rory

We’ve already got one fledgling couple — Poppy and Douglas — figuring things out; we don’t need to add another one to the mix. Because whenever Angie and Will do start to go down that road, it’s going to be an all-hands situation; they are going to need a lot of help from their village.

Stray Thoughts:
  • Who else had a Luke and Lorelai flashback when Angie hands Will the chore list?
  • Douglas’ grief group is great, but his hen speech ruins it.
  • Seriously, that is not a cute speech.
  • Miggy’s tired dad game catching on just shows how much of a genius he is.
