Killjoys Review: Terraformance Anxiety (Season 5 Episode 9)
Aneela and Delle Seyah are back and reunited with the rest of Team Awesome Force on Killjoys Season 5 Episode 9, “Terraformance Anxiety.” And then they leave after what feels like five seconds.
It’s a shame that they both head off to Leith, essentially sidelining themselves for the final battle. It could have been so much fun to see them really incorporate themselves into Team Awesome Force and fight side by side with everyone.
This feels like a wasted opportunity. Hopefully, they will play a role in the finale.

Before Delle Seyah goes off to Leith, we at least get a sweet moment between her and D’av.
After her dream/hallucination conversation with him on Killjoys Season 5 Episode 5, “A Bout, A Girl,” it is great to see an actual chat between the two of them. They are my favorite little parenting duo.
D’av and Delle Seyah have grown so much because of Jaq, and it’s great that D’av notices this change in Delle Seyah. She claims this change is because she has Aneela to fight for now, but I also think Jaq has a lot to do with it, and she shares as much with Jaq on “A Bout, A Girl.”
D’av: It’s you. You seem different.
Delle Seyah: It’s been a long journey, but at the end, it was Aneela. And when you’ve got someone like that to fight for… in any case, off to your war.
D’av: You too. Good luck.
Delle Seyah: I don’t need luck, Jaqobis. I have breeding…and knives.
It’s clear the point of this conversation is to draw a parallel between D’av and Delle Seyah, but Jaq should not have been excluded.
D’av and Delle Seyah will be a part of each other’s lives forever because of Jaq. I like to think that they spend holidays together, take family trips, and just keep in contact. As much as Delle Seyah denies it, she has a soft spot for the Jaqobis.
So how exactly does The Lady have the mirror cube that Jaq’s currently hiding out in?

These cubes are practically undetectable, so there’s no way it randomly started sending a signal to the Armada. Otherwise, why didn’t The Lady find the cube when Aneela was hiding out in it? Something has to be going on here.
Perhaps, Jaq has a master plan that no one knows about. He’s a smart kid, so it wouldn’t be surprising.
Let’s hope that’s the case because if it is actually not part of anyone’s plan, it will be majorly disappointing. What are your theories on why the mirror cube starting emitting a signal, leading The Lady straight to it?
D’av: Dutch, I love you! I’m not telling you because I want you to say it back, not that I don’t want you to say it back. I just need…
Dutch: D’av is this really the right time? We’re about to go shoot a bunch of stuff.
D’av: We’re always about to shoot a bunch of stuff, which is pretty awesome when you think about it. But I just need, I need you to know that I admire you, I love kicking ass with you, and can’t imagine doing it with anyone else but you. You’re what I’m fighting for, Yala Yardeen.
I’ve said it before, but with this being a final season, you have to prepare to lose some beloved characters. I never thought Old Town would be one of them.
The destruction of Old Town is heartbreaking, and personally the hardest part is watching the bar be destroyed. It’s Team Awesome Force’s home, and the decision had to be made to sacrifice it for the greater good.
It’s hard to picture Killjoys without Old Town.
Stray Thoughts:
- Gared is an adorable badass, and I love him.
- It’s enjoyable to see someone trick Khlyen, the man who is always ten steps ahead.
- Johnny revealing that he’s alive to Pree, Turin, and Gared is amazing.
- D’av’s “I love you” to Dutch is so sweet.
- What’s up with Dutch’s intense smokey eye?

UGHHH YOU’RE SO RIGHT about how they brought back Aneela and Delle for a few scenes before disappearing again! Got my hopes up too high for a Green Queens/Team Awesome Force alliance of badassery. Delle Seyah wearing sleeves again was also quite disappointing.
However, they did seem to make the most of their breif time with TAF. ANEELA AND DUTCH SISTERLY REUNION YESSS! Aneela being confused by Dutch’s terrible pottery was funny, I wonder if that’s a common trait they share. It’s interesting how the sisters are working together to beat the Lady, but have different definitions of what home means. Aneela wants to focus on Qresh, while Dutch is determined to save that “dirt moon” Westerly. I have faith that they’ll continue to be a united front, since Dutch said to Aneela “I know how you can help.” What exactly their plan is, we’ll have to wait another week to see!
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting them to drop all that new information about Qresh and the Ten Families on us. Not complaining, simply curious. So, we learned that the Kin Rits were the most powerful family on Qresh, deciding who can rule and who serves. What is this, Game of Thrones in space? Based on everything we already know about Khlyen and Aneela, that’s not very surprising. After being away for centuries, Aneela is finally ready to return and restore their former glory. Will there be a possible merging of Land Kin Rit and Kendry in the future?
Speaking of merging….that entire thing with Delle, Davin, and the Robbels was absolutely hysterical! Delle smirking in amusement as the siblings tried to hit on Davin. Then the tables got turned when they pulled Delle into a weird, disturbing threesome with erotic ear fondling. The Robbels were so lucky that Aneela wasn’t there. I had to rewind that part about a million times because it was TOO GOOD. Dutch playing the “YOUR WIFE SAID SO” card with Delle Seyah was also fun.
That conversation between Delle and Davin was *Chef’s kiss on fingers* marvelous! Of course, Delle wasn’t going to admit that she had a dream about him giving her parenting advice. Still, she returned the favor by helping him with his feelings for Dutch, whether they realized it or not. When you choose your family, you choose your fight. Delle has Aneela, Davin has Dutch, and Jaq is their son. Delle totally has a soft spot for the Jaqobis, because they’re actually more alike than she thinks.
Davin telling Delle that she seems different was a correct observation! Despite sounding like a broken record, Delle Seyah HAS changed and grown alot throughout the series! She’s become a better version of herself because of the struggles she faced…and LOVE. I’m glad that they explicitly clarified that through a member of TAF, with whom she had a rocky history. Now it’s just Delle and Johnny who need to have a moment for resolving their issues.
Alright, that’s enough of my incessant rambling for today. The end is coming….and I’M NOT READY!
