Lauren Graham Joins the Cast of ‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist’
Gilmore Girls fans may want to pay attention to this news!
Gilmore Girls and Parenthood star Lauren Graham has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming NBC series, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, according to TV Line.
Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist follows Zoey Clarke (Jane Levy), a whip-smart computer coder forging her way in San Francisco. After an unusual event, she starts to hear the innermost wants and desires of the people around her through songs. At first, she questions her own sanity but soon realizes this unwanted curse may just be a gift.

Graham will be replacing Carmen Cusack in the role of Joan, Zoey’s boss. There’s no doubt this will be an interesting role.
The cast also includes Skylar Astin (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Peter Gallagher (The O.C.), Alex Newell (Glee), John Clarence Stewart (Luke Cage), and Mary Steenburgen (The Last Man on Earth).
Austin Winsberg will write and executive produce the series. Richard Shepard will direct and executive produce (pilot only). Paul Feig, Jessie Henderson, Kim Tannenbaum, Eric Tannenbaum, David Blackman, and Daniel Inkeles will executive produce.
This is a return to NBC for Graham, who starred as Sarah Braverman on the network’s drama series, Parenthood, from 2010 to 2015. Incidentally, that role was also a recast, as Graham replaced Maura Tierney in the role.
Of course, Graham is also well-known for her role as Lorelai Gilmore on Gilmore Girls, with her last major television role being the revival series Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life on Netflix.
