Fan Expo Canada 2019 Preview: Line-Up includes ‘The Boys’, ‘Saved by The Bell’, and ‘Smallville’
The end of summer is near and with the end comes colder temperatures, stuffy classrooms, and layers — lots and lot of layers.
However, the end of summer also means the start of North America’s third-largest pop culture event, Fan Expo Canada, which has returned to Toronto from August 22nd to 25th.
For many Canadian residents and visitors from around the world, attending this event is the last chance to beat the heat and let loose before class is back in session.
This year the expo will be celebrating 25 years and it will be doing so in good company with appearances from all our favorite pop culture icons of the past and present. Whether you just finished binge-watching the lastest obsessions or you can’t stop obsessing over the classics, there’s something for everyone at Fan Expo Canada this year.

Talk about a blast from the past! Fan Expo Canada is bringing the students of Bayside High School to Toronto for a class reunion that is sure to be memorable.
Saved by The Bell castmembers Mario Lopez (The Bold and the Beautiful), Mark-Paul Gosselaar (The Passage, Pitch), and Elizabeth Berkley (CSI: Miami) will be stopping by to chat with fans and reminisce about the good old days of teenage shenanigans and wacky fashion.
Whether you want to team-up for a group photo-op or attend the highly anticipated Q&A panel on Saturday, this is one high school reunion you’re not going to want to miss.
The good old times keep on rolling with appearances from The Goonies cast. Sean Astin (The Lord of The Rings, Stranger Things), Corey Feldman (Stand By Me, The Lost Boys), Ke Huy Quan (Indiana Jones) will be on hand Sunday to discuss the classic 80s film during their Q&A panel.
Who needs time travel when you can have the next best thing with your favorite childhood stars — photo-ops!

No need to fear, Fan Expo’s super lineup is here to save the day!
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Smallville castmembers Tom Welling, Laura Vandervoort, Michael Rosenbaum, and Kristin Kreuk flying into Fan Expo Canada. The cast will be appearing throughout the weekend with a special reunion panel scheduled to take place on Sunday to celebrate the show that gave fans a young and unique take on the Superman legacy long before the Arrowverse came to be.
Speaking of the Arrowverse, the newest reiteration of Superman and a Fan Expo Canada regular will be making his way from the small screen to Toronto to meet with fans once again.
That’s right, Tyler Hoechlin will be making an appearance at the expo on Saturday and Sunday. Whether you’re a fan of his recent work on Supergirl as the famous caped crusader or a long time fan of brooding werewolf Derek Hale on the hit supernatural drama Teen Wolf, Hoechlin’s Sunday Q&A is an opportunity you won’t want to miss.

Who needs real-life superheroes when you got the cast of The Boys to get the job done.
That’s right, the latest of streaming network sensations is coming to Fan Expo Canada with Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games), Karl Urban (Star Trek), Antony Starr (Banshee).
Don’t miss your chance to see what happens when Billy Butcher, Homelander, and Hughie come face to face for one epic Q&A panel.
If unconventional superhero shows are your thing, you are in luck. The Umbrella Academy’s Emmy Raver-Lampman and Tom Hopper will also be making an appearance on Saturday and Sunday with a Q&A panel focused around the on-screen superhero couple we’re all rooting for.

Canada is known for many things. We’ve practically trademarked the word sorry, our poutine with cheese curds is a national delicacy, and our winters are notoriously cold. However, Canada is slowly becoming a prominent player in the film industry with prime shooting locations across the country and hit television shows like Schitt’s Creek.
Fan Expo Canada will continue to showcase that potential with some of the best television shows Canada has to offer — starting with Kim’s Convenience! The show, which focuses on a Korean-Canadian family who runs a convenience store in downtown Toronto, will have a heavy presence at the expo with most of the cast stopping by on Friday to chat with fans.
If you didn’t grow up in Canada, you may never have heard of a show called Corner Gas but locals know the gas station comedy all too well. The show’s original cast members will be making a special appearance on Sunday with group photo-opts, signings, and a scheduled Q&A.
Along with a stellar lineup of guests from all over the world, Fan Expo Canada has managed to include Canadian content that will shine a light on the incredible production and talent Toronto and Canada has to offer.

But wait there’s more!
He made his mark on television and recently became the newest addition to the DC superhero family. Yes, Zachary Levi (Shazam!, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Heroes Reborn) will be flying in for Fan Expo Canada on Saturday and Sunday!
This is a great opportunity to visit various spots in downtown Toronto where Shazam! was filmed and then head over to the expo to meet the superhero himself — all you got to do is say the word.
The legendary Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Thor: Ragnorak) will be stopping by on Sunday to greet fans and share some grandmaster wisdom during his Q&A panel as well.
And last but certainly not least, John Travolta (Grease, Pulp Fiction, Saturday Night Fever) will also be making a rare appearance for one day only on Sunday to promote his new movie The Fanatic. Fans will have an opportunity to ask the actor questions about everything from his iconic film career.

If attending celebrity guest panels aren’t your thing, there are over 400,000 square feet of shopping madness to take in. There are booths, interactive experiences, and panels for everyone. If you prefer comic books or cosplay, there’s is a massive artist alley to browse and various costume meetups to attend.
Are you a fan of puzzles and Harry Potter? Good news, the event will host two wizarding world themed escape rooms for muggles to test their knowledge of magical arts. Or maybe you’re anticipating a long day on your feet and are looking for a place to crash.
Why not stop by the Central Perk coffee shop and take a load off on the iconic Friends sofa with a warm cup of coffee?
