Siren Review: The Outpost (Season 2 Episode 13)
Reporter Sutton finds new information in his search that leads him to believe in the possibility of mermaids, Beth takes Levi to her home, and Ryn learns the truth about Bens ancestors on Siren Season 2 Episode 13, “The Outpost.”
From the beginning, Beth has put off weird vibes and made it known that she shouldn’t be trusted, and now she’s proved it. I’ll give her credit for having the guts to walk into Helen’s show and openly take Levi. Granted, it isn’t by force, but it’s like leading a child with candy to a van. She knows exactly what she’s doing.
It’s also no coincidence that John ends up passing away “in his sleep” right after telling Helen about the bad things that happened to her parents. He was going to give away secrets and he was murdered so his mouth would stay shut. Beth is a danger to everyone, I feel.

ELINE POWELL
Now that Beth knows that she’s connected to Charles Pownall and the baby he had with a mermaid she’s geeking and is afraid that everyone will find out. I hope that everyone finds out because maybe it’ll end her reign of crazy actions, or it’ll force her to go total psycho.
I despise Nicole for putting cameras in the boat to spy on Ben, Maddie, and Ryn. I hope that when they figure out she was the one who did it they take her out so they don’t have to deal with her anymore. Now, the military knows that there are other mermaids who will just come to shore when they feel like, but more importantly, now they know that Levi is here.
I’m surprised that the military came about the situation in a coaxing manner instead of trying to force Ben and Maddie to tell them everything. But, they’ve learned how to manipulate them to get what they want. If Ryn and Levi can’t mate correctly and get Ryn pregnant then there’s a good chance they’ll try to grow an embryo in the lab to see if it’s possible.

ELINE POWELL
It would be phenomenal if they could grow new mermaids in the lab, but it would also be a horrible mistake because they would end up training them to be their slaves and work for the military. They would entice Ryn and Levi with the possibility of repopulation, but I feel once the baby came they would keep it hostage away from Ryn.
It’s upsetting for Ryn that Ben has been lying to her the whole time about what his ancestors did to her species, and I don’t necessarily blame her. He’s had the entire time to tell her about what happened way back when that way he’s transparent and honest with her. But, he likes to keep secrets when he shouldn’t and now it’s going to bite him in the butt.
I hope that Helen, Ben, and Maddie do something to take care of Beth for good in next week’s episode because I think that she’s going to go absolutely insane and doing something crazy.
