“The United States is the most dangerous country in the world to give birth in.” This quote is at the core of The Resident Season 2 Episode 20, “If Not Now, When?”
According to the preview below, about 700 women die every year in the U.S because of pregnancy and childbirth issues. Black women are 243% more likely to die than white women, because they are more likely to be ignored.
Patient stories have always been the show’s strength, and Leah’s story isn’t the only intense one on this episode. There is also a case involving unintended victims of a gunshot wound.
But of course, there are also the dramatic beats to get answers to. Hopefully this episode begins with Conic having a much-needed conversation about the future of their relationship. Plus, The Raptor is going to have to confess something to Mina soon, right?
Whatever you do, don’t hope too much for a happy ending. FOX originally titled this episode “Black Cloud.”
