Fan Favorites ‘The Resident’ and ‘9-1-1’ Renewed For Third Seasons at FOX

Adrenaline junkies have no fear, FOX has renewed two of the network’s most popular dramas that keep you on the edge of your seat and peaking through your fingers every week. 9-1-1 and The Resident have both been renewed for their third seasons on FOX.

We hope that they remain partners on Monday nights, as according to a FOX press release they helped the channel’s ratings increase “+24% year-over-year growth for FOX Monday.”

Individual ratings prove that the shows connect with audiences on a consistently impressive basis. 9-1-1 is Fox’s #1 drama with an average viewer rating of 15.4 million total viewers, and The Resident is not far behind with 11 million. Michael Thorn, the President of Entertainment for FOX Entertainment made statements about both shows via the press release.

9-1-1 redefined what a procedural series can be, consistently delivering edge-of-your-seat emergencies, mixed with emotional story arcs and incredible performances from one of the most powerful teams of actors on television,” Thorn stated. “Kudos to Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Tim Minear and their entire crew, as well as the amazing cast anchored by Angela Bassett, Peter Krause and Jennifer Love Hewitt for raising the bar week after week.”

He went on to praise the impressive cast of actors which includes Angela Bassett, Peter Krause and Jennifer Love Hewitt, and creator Ryan Murphy and his crew.
