30 Favorite TV Couples from 2018 (continued):

21. Bob and Linda (Bob’s Burgers)

bob's burgers

Bob and Linda are easily one of the best married couples on television. They understand each other, they don’t take life too seriously, and they love their kids and each other with a refreshing realism and humor that is crucial to maintaining a relationship.

They laugh with each other and they make terrible jokes and indulge each other’s weird dreams. Bob and Linda make marriage look like a whole lot of fun even amidst all the tough realities of what it takes to own a business and take care of a family.

22. Rufus and Jiya (Timeless)

timeless

Rufus and Jiya were the cute couple who couldn’t quite figure out how to get together at the start of Timeless Season 1. But when Timeless returned for a second season in 2018, their relationship was not only established, it hit a few turbulence.

In the aftermath of the Season 1 finale, Jiya started having visions about Rufus dying surrounded by cowboys. The revelation causes Rufus to pull away from her for a time. It isn’t until Jiya’s kidnapped by Rittenhouse and gets lost in the 19th Century Chinatown that she realizes she causes it.

Even though she leaves a message for Rufus not to come, Team Lifeboat comes to the rescue anyway, because there is no way he’s leaving her to get Shanghai-ed or contract dysentery.

23. Valencia and Beth (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend)

crazy ex girlfriend

Valencia and Beth continue to show us how having a girlfriend who is your partner is peak romance.

The conflict this sweet and salty couple faces is centered in their environment and external pressures, rather than their interpersonal connection.

As a result, we get a strong, funny, and ambitious love that can even stand-up against the resurfacing of a hidden high school love.

Father Brah supports and praises Valencia and Beth’s. This is something special for this couple and viewers because it is a Catholic priest openly affirming a same-sex ship.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend‘s Valencia and Beth is an important and funny romance for 2018.

24. Fitz and Simmons (Agents Of Shield)

agents of shield

If you’re looking for a couple that has literally transcended space and time, look no further than Agents of SHIELD‘s Leopold Fitz and Jemma Simmons. They found themselves separated by roughly 74 years, but Fitz found a way to close the gap and rescue his love and his friends. 2018 saw FitzSimmons tie the knot, and even introduced their future grandson, Deke.

Though Fitz was “killed” at the end of the season, their grandson from the future lives, suggesting that Jemma’s inevitable search through space and time to find a sleeping Fitz is successful. We can only hope the coming seasons will break their curse and see them finally get their happy ending.

25. Jo and Alex (Grey’s Anatomy)

grey's anatomy

Jo and Alex have finally reached a happy ending after a very rough road. With their relationship complicated by the realization that Jo was already married, their relationship was kind of on pause, until Jo decided that she was tired of hiding and filed for divorce. The action led to her abusive husband, Paul flying to come to Seattle where Jo found out that he was also planning to get remarried. Paul later died in a car crash

After Jo decided to donate his organs, she and Alex were able to get married in the Season 14 finale in a ceremony planned by April Kepner. In the Season 15 opener, Jo and Alex were on their honeymoon when Jo figures out how she could possibly cure cancer.

Her discovery clashed with a fellowship opportunity in Boston, but they were able to work it out so they could both stay in Seattle with Jo doing a fellowship and Alex filling in as interim chief. In short, Grey-Sloan Memorial has no shortage of Dr. Karevs in Season 15.

26. Conrad and Nic (The Resident)

the resident

Nic and Conrad are going strong and steady right now in Season 2, but it’s easy to forget that the show only premiered early this year. They’ve already survived a love triangle together and uncovered a doctor’s cancer diagnosing scam, not to mention they deal with each other’s family drama on the regular.

Whatever they face, they are as supportive of each other as possible, even if they don’t completely agree. Season 2 has been rather a rather smooth ride for them so far, but we can’t help but think there’s some trouble ahead thanks to the miscarriage flashback we saw this season.

No matter what 2019 has in store for them, CoNic is the center of The Resident. Czuchry and VanCamp are committed to both characters, and their natural chemistry only adds to the magic. Here’s hoping they don’t fall prey to the “on and off” trope that plagues so many popular couples.

There are so many other stories that have never been told, and no better characters to explore uncharted waters together than Conrad and Nic.

27. Jack and Rebecca (This Is Us)

this is us

Jack and Rebecca’s relationship has always been the centerpiece of This Is Us, and this year was no exception. In early 2018, viewers finally saw how Jack met his end in a fire started by a crockpot with a broken fuse. However, that’s not the end of Jack and Rebecca’s story.

In the aftermath of the Superbowl episode, there was a touching episode entitled “The Car” which showed various family moments and even a few more sentimental couple moments between the pair. We also got to see how they met and watch them travel across the country to California.

Jack and Rebecca have always been a heartwarming couple and This Is Us, keeps finding ways to unfold the intimate details of their love story.

28. Jonah and Amy (Superstore)

superstore

After years of watching Amy and Jonah dance around their attraction to each other, 2018 finally brought them together. Despite their differences and some serious obstacles — most notably Amy having a baby with her ex-husband –, this unlikely pair has found a way to make it work.

They balance each other perfectly and challenge one another in the best ways. Watching them really feels like being on cloud 9.

29. Oliver and Felicity (Arrow)

arrow olicity

It has been a rough year for Oliver and Felicity a.k.a. Olicity. From dealing with threats to their family to imprisonment, their first year of marriage has been a deluge of obstacles.

Oliver: You will always be the love of my life. People change. That never will.

But thanks to the Slabside arc and the moment in the latest crossover, the pair have managed to prove that they will do everything and anything to get back to each other (under any circumstance) becoming the perfect example of “nothing worthwhile ever comes easy.”

Here’s hoping 2019 brings more happiness and fewer struggles, though.

30. Stella and Severide (Chicago Fire)

chicago fire

This year saw the beginning of something great for Kelly Severide. He started a beautiful relationship with Stella Kidd, a relationship that started off a bit unsure.

In the time since then, they’ve steadily grown closer and created a bond that seems unlike any other Severide has had before. It’s the type of relationship that has fans believing this ladies man will finally be settling down.

While they are currently in a rough patch due to Severide grieving his father and closing Stella off from that, it’s easy to see they’ll walk through this fire and come out stronger.
