The Good Place Review: The Snowplow (Season 3 Episode 3)

Reviews, The Good Place

The group is close to falling apart as Tahani announces her engagement and plan to move to London on The Good Place Season 3 Episode 3, “The Snowplow.”

Michael and Janet are the definition of a ride or die friend, but Michaels obsession with the group is beginning to get in the way. Continually meddling in their lives and pushing them to do what he wants is what leads them to go separate ways.

I get it, Michael’s sole purpose now is to get them into the good place, but there comes the point where you have to stop, just like Janet tells him. It’s a little sad because Michael doesn’t have much else considering he gave up everything to help them. Now, if he goes back, the judge is going to punish him insanely for stealing the portal to earth.

Janet, on the other hand, clearly wants to stop meddling in the group’s lives and allow them to make their own choices, but she has to help Michael at the same time. I feel for Janet, she doesn’t have much of a say in things, and she has to watch the love of her life from afar.

One thing that confuses me throughout the entire episode is Janet’s knowledge being back. She couldn’t use any of her powers the first time she came to earth, but now she’s suddenly telling people everything about them like her all-knowing smarts are back.

If that’s the case and Michael and Janet have to stay on earth, she could always try something new as a fortune teller. In a way, she’d be helping people better their lives while simultaneously getting out of her funk of doing the same thing all the time. She could find something that she genuinely likes for a hobby.

It seems fit that Tahani would get engaged to a Hemsworth brother, but I love how humble she’s gotten with the group and how her love for them has grown.

On her special engagement day, she gets them all a big cake with all of their faces to celebrate the group individually, and it’s adorable.

I feel bad for Eleanor because the people she now claims as her family is trying to leave and she’s not good with change. But, even after her breakdown, Simone shows Eleanor that just because they won’t see each other every day doesn’t mean the love is gone between them.

I like that Simone keeps it real with Eleanor because someone needs to. And, on top of putting Eleanor in her place to stop the whining, she does it with more than just telling Eleanor to stop.

Simone pulls out facts and digs into Eleanor about her coping mechanisms and fright of change, but all from a place of love.

With the group walking in on Michael and Janet staring at the portal I have no clue where this is going to go. Michael has already shot his relationship with the judge in the foot, and now humans are looking at a magic portal in the middle of the room.
