Inspired by Chef Eddie Huang’s memoir, Fresh Off the Boat stars Randall Park as Louis, Constance Wu as Jessica, Hudson Yang as Eddie, Forrest Wheeler as Emery, Ian Chen as Evan, Lucille Soong as Grandma Huang, and Chelsey Crisp as Honey.

Fresh Off the Boat is the first network sitcom starring Asian Americans to reach syndication.

“The excitement level around adding this critically-acclaimed, first run series to our line-up is very high,” said Amy Winter, UPtv General Manager and EVP. “We are thrilled to be bringing viewers this hit series by launching it over Labor Day weekend with three primetime nights filled with the best episodes before settling into its regular primetime schedule on Wednesdays and Saturdays.”

“At UPtv, we know that our audience keeps their families in mind when making entertainment decisions, so they are seeking out uplifting shows they can watch together,” Winter continued. “In addition to being one of the funniest and relatable comedies on television right now, Fresh Off the Boat is perfect for our viewers because it is centered around a strong multi-generational family going through many situations everyday families go through, but with a throwback to the old school ‘because I said so’ parenting we love and remember.”

Fresh Off the Boat was created for television by Nahnatchka Khan, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar are executive producers.

The series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television for ABC.
