Take Two Review: About Last Night (Season 1 Episode 7)

Reviews, Take Two

Take Two Season 1 Episode 7, “About Last Night,” is a wild ride from start to finish. In fact, it’s Take Two‘s most exciting episode yet!

The hour opens with Sam and Eddie naked in bed together. They are missing quite a few things: their clothes, wallets, phones, and most importantly, their memories.

They have no idea how they got there and no recollection of anything that happened in the past 24 hours. Neither Sam nor Eddie have any idea what they did or didn’t do together.

Zeus: The question isn’t, “did you?” The question is, “do you want to?”

Inferring that they must have been drugged, Sam and Eddie turn to Mick to have some blood testing done.

I have missed Jordan Gavaris on this show! He needs to be around more often. He’s a big fan of Sam’s and always has her back.

It’s a relief when the blood work shows no alcohol in Sam’s system. I really worried that she had broken her sobriety, and the impact on her recovery would be huge. This would have stolen any of the self-confidence she has built.

Sam’s AA meeting visit is heartbreaking. She is so confused and helpless. The idea that she would be starting her sober clock over is almost too much for her to handle.

If the drug Scopolamine sounds familiar to you, it’s because that’s a common memory loss drug used on crime shows.

Remember the zombie episode of Castle? Scopolamine was used on the killer to make him easily malleable and erase all memories of his crime. I guess Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller saved some time on research this episode by using what they already know.

As Sam and Eddie learn more about their movements and actions the past day, the story gets stranger and stranger. It really keeps you guessing. I’m impressed they are able to keep putting the pieces together and make sense of it all.

Sam and Eddie keep their focus and don’t let themselves wonder too much about the implications of the evidence. It appears they spent a lot of time naked together.

How funny is that ride share surveillance video?

Eddie: You’re saying one guy did all this?
Mick: It does appear that these gentlemen took on Batman.

The case begins as a missing dog investigation and turns into an FBI mission to catch a rogue agent. Eddie and Sam make some crazy stops along the way. It starts out at a fancy restaurant, goes to a sex club, leads them to a house full of dead bodies, and ends with Sam and Eddie naked in a decontamination shower.

Like I said, it’s a wild ride.

No wonder they are the only PI team able to solve it!

Somehow, the story goes through all these twists and turns and still seems logical. Sam and Eddie use solid reasoning and investigative work to figure out the case. It impresses me that the story isn’t simply a hot mess — it is actually intriguing while still being goofy.

Sam and Eddie aren’t going to be able to avoid their feelings for each other much longer.

I really thought they were going to kiss in the decontamination shower. They come so close! I predict they won’t make it much longer without giving in. Especially, now that they have seen each other naked.
