Young & Hungry Review: Young & Magic and Young & Yacht’in (Season 5B Episode 9 and 10)
Young & Hungry Season 5B Episode 9, “Young & Magic,” and 10, “Young & Yacht’in,” do a remarkable job of ending the story with our favorite characters.
Sofia works her hardest to make sure that this relationship works out, unlike her others, which means the approval of her grandmother is critical. But, that’s a little hard when your grandmother has a cold, tough, hard exterior that you have to break through.
Sofia and Gabi coming up with the plan to tell one another’s issues is a smart plan, if only Sofia’s grandmother wasn’t such a jokester.

EMILY OSMENT, AIMEE CARRERO
It’s a messed up thing to do, but if I was Sofia’s grandmother I might’ve faked my own death as well if some young woman was yelling at me in place of my granddaughter.
Gabi succeeds in telling Sofia’s grandmother what she needs to hear, but Sofia can’t tell Josh that Gabi hates his magic because it would break his heart if he knew that the woman he loved hated the thing he loves the most.
I love that Sofia finally decides to stand up to her grandmother, passing the family tradition she didn’t know about, which is to set things straight with your grandmother and put her in her place.

AIMEE CARRERO, TERRI HOYOS
I don’t like Gabi’s way of dealing with things. Her way of dealing with situations is being blunt and upfront after trying to keep everything a secret, but she never knows when the perfect moment to tell the truth is.
Gabi could easily help Josh impress his friends and the magician business owner for a total of ten minutes, but instead, she has to freak out on him in the middle of his presentation, in front of everyone. Josh is a man with a lot of patience and love for Gabi considering he continues to put up with this type of behavior from her on a daily basis.
For the finale, Josh buys a nice, big yacht where he plans to propose to Gabi, but he messes up by thinking he can hide a ring anywhere but on him and it not be found. There’s always someone up to something in their little friend group, which means this proposal was doomed from the very beginning.

JONATHAN SADOWSKI, EMILY OSMENT, ALEX GUARNASCHELLI, AIMEE CARRERO
Sofia and Nick are a cute couple and I’m happy that she finally found someone who likes her and wants to stay with her, but assuming Nick is going to propose after a few weeks is insane.
With that being said, the moment she realizes that the ring was meant for Gabi is the absolute cutest. There’s no hint of sadness or jealousy, just pure happiness for her best friend in the whole world.
Josh loves Gabi with every fiber of his being, which is proven when Gabi comes to him about taking a job with Chef Alex Guarnaschelli and he completely forgets the proposal. He willingly let Nick look like he was proposing to Sofia so he could allow Gabi to fulfill her dream of being a professional chef.

AIMEE CARRERO, CHRISTOPHER NICHOLAS SMITH
It’s so freaking adorable the way Gabi lets Josh know that no matter what she does in life she wants him right there by her side. Hopefully, the movie that we’ll be getting in the next year will answer the burning question: did Josh and Gabi move to Seattle?
Overall this last season of Young & Hungry is a lovely way to go out with a bang, everyone ending their stories on a good note. This show will be deeply missed. Now, let’s get to work on a spinoff with Elliot and Yolanda, the true queens of the show.

I like the show but I think Gabi acts too much like a prostitute. She’s already been with too many men. She looks more trashy than Miley Cyrus! Have some class!!
