Preview — The 100 Season 5 Episode 10: The Warriors Will
The 100 Season 5 Episode 10, “The Warriors Will,” picks up shortly after the game-changing events of “Sic Semper Tyrannis,” and from the looks of it, we’re in for another nonstop hour of adrenaline and emotion.
Written by the magnificent sister duo, Julie Benson and Shawna Benson, and directed by the show’s own Henry Ian Cusick “The Warriors Will” is set to punch us all in the heart and leave us asking for another. This trio brought us one of the best episodes of Season 4 with “The Other Side” and I have the utmost confidence they’ve done the same with “The Warriors Will.”
It’s been a minute since we last saw Monty and Harper, but the episode description for this episode lets us know they’re still striving to find hope in the darkness. My question is, will Monty seek an audience with Octavia and attempt to save the people in the fighting pits?
Or will he and Harper simply attempt to lure Wonkru members who are tired of fighting to stay behind and live on their algae farm?
Everyone would probably be better off listening to Monty, but Harper’s blood-soaked hands in this year’s countdown photos tell me something is likely to go horribly wrong, no matter how good their intentions are.
At the end of The 100 Season 5 Episode 9 “Sic Semper Tyrannis” Octavia arrested Bellamy, Indra, and Gaia for treason against Wonkru, effectively placing a death sentence on all that remains of her family.
In typical The 100 Commander fashion, Octavia has adopted the belief that love is a weakness.
Octavia: Love no one, and no one can hurt you.
When properly embraced, love can be our greatest strength, just look at Kane and Abby, or Clarke and Madi, or the members of Spacekru. But Octavia fears looking weak so much that she’s cut herself off from things like love and humanity. With Bellamy and Indra’s lives on the line now the walls she’s built around herself are starting to crumble.
Will Octavia finally show weakness in front of Wonkru by admitting her love for these people? Or will external circumstances save them from the fate of the ring?
The only person I’m truly worried for in this round of gladiator games is Gaia. I can’t see Indra killing her own daughter, but I can’t see Bellamy immediately going in for the kill either.
As much as I want them all to survive, there’s no one to come through the ceiling and save them at the last minute like Bellamy and Clarke saved Kane, and The 100 isn’t merciful enough to let everyone go unscathed a second time.
Clarke and Madi have fled for the valley in the wake of Bellamy’s betrayal. I can’t blame Clarke for her choice to leave and given the recent power shake-up back home I’d say her presence there is definitely needed.
Who will she run into first? With her allies scattered through the woods and McCreary in power, Clarke could find any number of people upon her return.
One thing’s for certain, even if they’ve been gone a few weeks, Clarke and Madi know that land better than anyone and that definitely gives them an advantage.
In McCreary’s grab for power, he and his people managed to get their hands on Abby as well, making her the only hostage that remains in the village while Kane and Murphy fled with Diyoza to regroup, and Spacekru and the other defectors making their own plans in the woods.
McCreary wants the cure, but after voicing his plans to kill everyone we love, I doubt Abby’s going to be very willing to comply, even if it goes against her oath as a doctor. Will Abby choose to finally give up her addiction and refuse to treat the prisoners? What will McCreary and his men do to get her to comply?
Abby’s definitely a badass who can hold her own, but I think the sooner Clarke gets home the better.
