The multi-camera comedy series, which is a reimagining of the iconic Norman Lear sitcom, will debut a 13-episode third season in 2019.

This comes after a robust campaign on social media calling on Netflix to renew the ground-breaking comedy about a Cuban-American family, which included an open letter from the National Hispanic Media Coalition.

The show has been a beacon a light for many, including us, as it demonstrates how one show can address current social issues while being empathetic, heartfelt, and comedic.

One Day at a Time is a hilarious and heartfelt comedy that follows three generations of a Cuban-American family sometimes-reluctantly cohabitating and navigating the ups and downs of life.

A newly-single mom and military veteran journeys through the triumphs and tribulations that come with raising two strong-willed, mega-millennial children, all the while enlisting the “help” of her old-school mother and her building manager-turned-invaluable confidante.

Through a contemporary lens, One Day at a Time offers a glimpse at what life looks like, in good times and bad — and how those around you somehow make it all worthwhile.

One Day at a Time Season 2 Roundtable

Hillary is television fanatic and spends most of her free time talking about all things television and pop culture, even if it’s just with baby padawan (her son) and her wife. Her current day job is working within the nonprofit sector, and she is pretty much in love with any show that has strong female characters. Never one to be boxed into any sort of genre, her show preferences range from Wynonna Earp and Dark Matter to One Day At a Time and Modern Family.
