17 Times Sara Lance was the Best Part of Legends of Tomorrow

Legends of Tomorrow, Lists
13. One Crazy Scheme

saraaaa

Sara will do anything and everything to protect her team. We know this, and this is what makes her a great leader, even if her methods are extreme when she threatens to crash the Waverider into the Time Bureau’s ship on Legends Of Tomorrow Season 3 Episode 3, “Zari.”

Is it all a bluff? No, Sara really goes for it, and the Time Bureau thankfully does what Sara thought they would do which is time jump the hell out of there at the last second

Is it a badass bluff involving reverse psychology or completely risky and idiotic move?

A little of both, but it works. Sara isn’t playing any games when it comes to doing what’s right for time and saving her family of misfits. A good captain is willing to do some crazy things, and luckily for the Legends, Sara is always up for a crazy scheme.

14. Wedding Crashers

When the Nazi’s crash Barry and Iris’s wedding on “Crisis on Earth-X Part 1,” Sara makes do with what she is wearing. She uses the back of her heel to rip her dress so she could kick Nazi ass.

She’s adaptable. Need further proof?

Sara literally uses some chain thing she finds in the church to fight against swords.

This woman can make anything a weapon. Why? Because she’s a survivor. This is useful for viewers too; just know that if you need to defend yourself, be creative.

There are so many superhero skills happening in that church, but Sara certainly sticks out with her skills and ingenuity. Proving once again you don’t need powers to fight back.

That’s an important lesson to show audiences. You don’t need to have powers or a super suit to be a superhero. Just use anything around you to defend yourself and be willing to give your all when it comes to saving the world and other worlds.

15. Sticking Together on Earth-X

This is most favorite Sara Lance moment ever, in case you were wondering.

On “Crisis On Earth-X, Part 3,” Sara stands up to the Earth-X version of her father, who happens to be a Nazi, and explains just why she finds herself in a concentration camp surrounded by her friends.

Sara: Because I like men, and I like women.

She didn’t have to say anything at all. She could’ve kept quiet, but when has Sara not been comfortable with her sexuality? When has she ever not stuck by her friends and teammates?

Never.

Sara doesn’t abandon her friends, and she doesn’t pretend to be someone she’s not. She’s unapologetically herself, always.

16. Battling Mallus

Sara risks her life and quite literally her soul, again, to try and stop a demon who is in possession of Nora’s body on Legends Of Tomorrow Season 3 Episode 10, “Daddy Darhkest.

That’s right, Sara is risking everything to save the daughter of a man who killed her sister. I mean wow.

Sara isn’t just concerned with stopping Darhk by stopping Mallus. She really does care about Nora, regardless of who her father is. She wants Nora to be safe, and if putting a kink in Darhk’s master plan happens as a result, then that’s just an added bonus.

For Sara, the mission is about saving a little girl.

This just shows her humanity, and how it’s such a strong, bright light. How as the White Canary she is willing to go above and beyond to save as many lives as she can.

17. Gideon’s Version of Sara

happy sara

Although we discover that this time loop on Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 Episode 11, “Here I Go Again,” is all in Zari’s head thanks to Gideon, we do see a very touching Sara moment.

We have to remember even though it isn’t real, Gideon still creates a version of Sara with all of real Sara’s qualities.

After countless loops of Sara yelling at Zari and/or thinking she’s crazy, there’s finally a break. Literally, Zari breaks down.

Sara immediately goes from yelling to asking her what’s wrong and wanting to help. She sees how distraught her teammate is and knows that whatever Zari tells her is real.

Automatically their fight is over, and Sara automatically trusts Zari. Despite the situation not being real, that is something Sara would do. She’s hard on her team but for good reason; she wants them to be their very best and know their worth.

Yet, she also cares deeply for all of them and is willing to go above and beyond to keep them happy.

I used to call Rip, “Time Dad,” and now I’m declaring that Sara is officially, “Time Mom.”

There you have it! These are all the reasons why Sara is the best part of Legends Of Tomorrow and continues to be so.

She is my favorite character who has had the best character development by far. She is a beacon of light, a beacon of hope, and an inspiration to girls and women everywhere.

  • i gave up at the suggestion Sara hooking up with a woman is noteworthy because it showed she still likes women after kissing Snart, like you constantly have to “prove” a bi character is “still” queer. This is at least the second Sara piece on this site with a really off-putting take on her bisexuality.
