17 Times Sara Lance was the Best Part of Legends of Tomorrow

Legends of Tomorrow, Lists
7. Meeting the Justice Society

sara8

Rip is still gone on Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 2, “The Justice Society of America,” and the team has no leader. Stein steps up to be a leader, confident because the Justice Society had assumed he was already the leader because he was:

1.  Male

2. White.

*rolls eyes*

Bonus: Even Rex questions Sara’s leadership skills because she’s a woman.

Yet, throughout the episode, Sara proves to be more of a leader than Stein. She’s already much better at working under pressure and assembling plans.

We watch Stein fail miserably at the task, while Sara is in the background with all of the answers.

But she’s not arguing with Stein over the position, she’s simply just doing everything in her power to help to the point where Stein gives her the position of Captain because of her skills. Sara handles the situation with grace, wanting what’s best for the team, not trying to grab the power nor glory.

As a woman, there is something so incredibly satisfying watching another woman prove a man wrong, especially Sara Lance proving a man wrong. There’s also something even more satisfying about a man admitting defeat like Stein does.

8. Confederate Zombies

Legends of Tomorrow Sara Zombies

On Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 4, “Abominations,” Sara and Nate warn the General that everyone is in great danger because of zombies. The General thinks they are confederates, so Sara decides to go get some proof.

She makes a grand entrance sometime later by slamming the severed head of a zombie onto the General’s table.

Proving your worth; a dish best-served head first.

You have to admit, Sara gets results. She knows when she can’t win an argument simply by talking, and she’s not afraid to get her hands a little dirty. Plus, you know Sara was excited to kick some zombie ass.

9. Holiday Celebration on the Waverider

sara10

The team decides to celebrate the holidays on Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 11, “Turncoat,” with a tree, party hats, food, drinks, and laughter.

In this scene, despite the darkness of what lies ahead, Sara eases everyone’s minds and states that everything would be okay, even though she isn’t sure of this herself. She gives them hope and reminds them that there a family.

Sara: But as powerful as the legion may be they don’t have this-family. And we all know nobody fights like family.

She is the glue that holds them together and keeps them grounded. They follow her willingly and believe in her.

This scene is a reminder of what a great captain Sara is. She knows when her team needs to be cheered up, and she is concerned about everyone’s wellbeing.

10. The One Where Sara Punches Mick

Legends of Tomorrow Sara Season 2 Episode 16

Or, the one where everyone punches Mick. It’s really rather satisfying to watch.

On Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 16, “Doomworld,” Sara and her team do certain things alike.

Sara follows Ray and Nate’s first actions after retaining their memories and punches Mick for betraying the team, as she should.

I love Mick but he deserves all of those punches, especially the one from Captain Sara Lance. I have a feeling she probably punches the hardest.

11. Letting Darhk Live

sara13

Despite all her attempts to kill Damian Darhk and finally seek her revenge, Sara finally comes to terms that her sister dying was meant to happen on Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 17, “Aruba.” So, when all is said and done with the Legion of Doom, she drops Darhk off on the path to kill her sister.

This shows incredible growth and strength, something I don’t think I’d ever handle as well as Sara handled it.

It takes a very strong individual to be able to come to terms with something like this. She has all of time and space at her disposal, and she could have taken Darhk anywhere. Instead, she does the right thing, even though it’s costing her Laurel.

Sara has truly grown since Legends Of Tomorrow began. She has learned to accept the things she cannot change, even with a time ship.

12. The One Where Sara Knocks Julius Caesar Unconscious

sara12

Sara proving men wrong continues to be one of my favorite storylines. Ever. It gives me power.

She continues to do so in the Season 3 premiere, “Aruba-Con.”

When Julius Caesar says he would rather fall on his sword then surrender to a woman, Sara literally becomes the meme, “Hold my beer.”

Ray: Uh, shouldn’t we help her?

Nate: It’s him I’m worried about.

It’s the best part of the Season 3 premiere in my humble opinion.

What better way to kick off the season then a powerful woman knocking a dictator unconscious?

  • i gave up at the suggestion Sara hooking up with a woman is noteworthy because it showed she still likes women after kissing Snart, like you constantly have to “prove” a bi character is “still” queer. This is at least the second Sara piece on this site with a really off-putting take on her bisexuality.
