15 Funniest Moments from iZombie Season 3

As we prepare for iZombie Season 4, which is almost here(!!), it’s time to reflect on what happened last season. Instead of focusing on all the details surrounding Fillmore Graves and the Aleutian flu, let’s remember the good, laugh out loud times.

In no particular order, here are some of the funniest moments from iZombie Season 3:

1. Teenage Girl Brains

This is hands down the best brain that anyone has ever eaten on the show. There’s no competition.

I cannot imagine anything being better than Major Lillywhite being on teenage girl brains.

The banter between him and his “father,” Liv, is enjoyable, but Major’s funniest moments on iZombie Season 3 Episode 2, “Zombie Knows Best,” come when he is there for his BFF Ravi.

Major and Ravi’s friendship is already a highlight of iZombie, and this whole brain situation just makes everything better. Teenage Girl Major is able to console Ravi over the Peyton and Blaine incident in a way only a teenage girl can.

Major manages to bring humor into Fillmore Graves, a place that really needs the levity, and we all can relate to his reaction to his coworker’s perfect abs.

Major on teenage girl brain is an all around good time for everyone.

2. Clive Knows

Clive being in on the zombie secret is great for all kinds of reasons.

He’s now a full-fledged member of Team Z. He gets to witness the gross yet fascinating event that is Liv cooking her brains, and he can join in on the fun that is trying to figure out what the brain has in store for Liv.

On iZombie Season 3 Episode 4, “Wag the Tongue Slowly,” it takes Liv and Clive a while to learn that the brain Liv is on belonged to a gossiper. The revelation is absolutely delightful and just a tad unprofessional (seeing as it occurs during an interrogation).

It’s a small, funny moment that highlights just how close Clive and Liv have become since the zombie secret came out on iZombie Season 2 Episode 18. Clive and Liv have always been close, but their relationship has deepened since Liv has been able to be herself, zombie-side and all, around him.

3. Dominatrix Liv

Liv is on dominatrix brain for the case on iZombie Season 3 Episode 5, “Spanking the Zombie,” which ends up making everyone around her extremely uncomfortable, in the best way.

The only person who seems to be loving this new version of Liv is Jimmy the Sketch Bitch.

Liv: Draw the nipples, Jimmy.

The scene in the interrogation room is far from appropriate conduct between coworkers, but it’s impossible not to laugh at their interactions, especially Liv only allowing Jimmy two swallows of his soup.

4. Dungeons & Dragons

No one, well no one aside from Ravi, is thrilled when Liv asks them all to play a round of Dungeons & Dragons to help spark a vision on iZombie Season 3 Episode 9, “Twenty-Sided, Die.”

By the end of it, everyone (minus Peyton) is completely invested in killing this Lich. There’s one person’s change of heart that’s particularly hilarious — we’re looking at you, Clive.

He begrudgingly agrees to go on this quest and does his best to sideline himself early on, which makes his enthusiasm for it later even better.

Clive: Booyah! How do you like Earl now you damn, dirty Lich!

Clive even goes so far as to brag about his victory to Liv afterward. He suggests that Liv hold onto the brain so that Team Z can have a weekly game of D&D. I think Ravi and Major would totally be down for it.

The whole quest is entertaining, especially watching the Fellowship of the Dorks react to Liv’s storytelling and investment into this game, and it’s definitely one of my favorite moments from the entire series so far.

Also, it’s amusing that this whole quest is to kill a Litch aka a member of the undead. iZombie never wastes a chance to poke fun at itself.

5. Three-Way

Since Clive and Peyton have joined Team Z, we’ve been privy to some amusing scenes where people react to Liv having a vision and blindly staring off into space. It’s been an amusing side effect of more people knowing Liv’s secret.

iZombie Season 3 Episode 11, “Conspiracy Weary,” kicks that up a notch with Liv, Blaine, and Don E. all being on the same brain.

Poor Clive looks terrified.

Blaine, Liv, and Don E. partnering up on a weird conspiracy theorist brain trip is everything we didn’t know we needed.

Don E. is hereby nominated to narrate all visions from now on. He takes a more theatrical approach.

6. Peyton Wants a Vision

Peyton has come a long way. She went from running out on Liv after she learned the zombie truth to encouraging Liv to eat the blue-soaked brains of James Weckler in order to crack a case on iZombie Season 3 Episode 10, “Return of a Dead Guy.”

However, if Peyton wants a vision, then she’s going to have to work for it, and unfortunately for Peyton, Weckler was into being submissive.

After Liv taunts her lame spanking, Peyton really gets into it…like really into it. A true friend will help you become a better dominatrix.

The whole scene is hilarious, especially once Liv gets a vision, and we see Peyton texting in order to pass the time until Liv snaps out of it.

Allison is in a love affair with television that doesn't seem to be letting up anytime soon. Slightly damaged fictional characters are her weakness. She loves to spend her free time curled up with a cat and a show to binge-watch. Allison is a Tomatometer-approved critic (Rotten Tomatoes).
